“Slightly noisy, Good Hotel”
Reviewed January 17, 2014

Beautiful Saigon 3

I have eight categories to judge a hotel: a) price, b) bed quality, c) sleep quality - this would include problems like hearing a neighbour through a wall, parties, construction, d) proximity to restaurants (within a fifteen minute walk), e) location (proximity to attractions both by tuk-tuk and walking), f) reception - treatment by hotel staff and overall friendliness toward clients, g) amenities (including price of hotel taxi and other small items such as shampoo, razors, etc); and h) overall feel and sense of the hotel, its staff and the neighbourhood (perhaps a subjective category).
The price of the Beautiful Saigon 3 is reasonable for its category. The bed quality is quite good; we found the bed firm and the pillows comfortable. Sleep quality is reasonable: we could hear street noise though it was buffered by the bathroom which segregated the sleeping part of the room from the alley. Other clients who had their bed nearer the alley complained more about noise. We also could hear the water pipes. Our room was also affected by the elevator: the reverberation noise was felt across the room several times but usually it ended by 9:30 pm and started around 7 am. It depends on how many people are going up and down!
Several decent restaurants were nearby. We ate twice in the Sisters Cafe near the entrance and would recommend this place over the hotel's restaurant. The decor is nice, they play a number of great songs and the owner is very friendly. The streets are crowded though and vendors come in and out of the restaurants plying their crafts often.
The main receptionist was very cordial and the bellboy very helpful. They didn't seem to be super efficient around organizing tours, however, there are several high level companies five minutes away. One issue I had with the hotel was the cost of their hotel taxi. Compared to other hotels throughout Vietnam it's overpriced by 5 to 8 dollars (yes, they pay a parking fee and a toll but the amount is not great). The hotel is about 30 minutes from the airport (in terms of time and traffic. I would recommend an airport taxi - just ask the price and don't pay more than 8 to 12 dollars (compared to the 20 dollar fee for a hotel taxi).
We had no problems with the amenities or extras such as Wifi. We enjoyed our three-night stay at the BS 3, but might look for a different hotel next time. Enjoy your travels.

Room Tip: Stay away from the elevator and try a room toward the back.

A great location in District 1 (the "tourist district"). A short walk to many attractions and good places to eat. Nice friendly staff, a reasonably spacious room with a window facing the street (some rooms don't have windows so make sure you check when you book). I thought breakfast was included but we only got one coupon to take to the restaurant next door when we were staying 4 nights, so not really sure what happened with that. There was complimentary water and a fruit basket when we arrived.

The hotel pick up from airport is $20, would be much cheaper to taxi, but it takes the hassle out when arriving late at night. A hotel driver to the airport from the hotel is only $10. The staff held our bags for us after we checked out which was good.

Overall a good stay.

I have just checked out of this hotel after staying for 4 nights. We arranged pick up from the airport by the hotel as we had never been to Vietnam before. It was so easy they were waiting for us as we walked out.
The hotel itself is a pleasant surprise it is very clean. The bathroom is spotless and our room (we stayed in a superior room 301) was very comfortable and enough room for 2 people. The room has a safe ,TV and computer.
The staff are very friendly and helpful. They arranged all our tour for us.
Breakfast is simple but very nice.
The position of the hotel is great. It is up a lane way so not as noisy as some hotels. We had no problems with noise and slept well, our room did face the lane.
We walked to the war museum, palace and the markets.
If you get a chance go on the Saigon by night tour on vintage Vespa's a great night.

My wife and I stayed here three nights on a recent trip to HCMC. Boy, was it worth it: clean, quit, well-outfitted rooms w/great pluming, AC & free wifi. BS3H's staff were amazing! Very friendly and helpful. Also, the food at the hotel restaurant was as good as any we had in the whole city! Finally, the location is marvelous: a nice side street near to good bars, tour agencies, and the cities major attractions. Really, the only negative I can think of is our room was pretty small. But its Saigon, after all; and the quality for price Beautiful Saigon Hotel 3 offers is almost unmatched. If you're heading to HCMC, stay at BSH3!!

Comfortable room - stayed for one night in a superior double. Enough space with a nice bathroom. 2 shower heads! The room was Street facing! Was wonderful waking up to the noises of the streets of Vietnam. The service was amazing! The porter assisted us in finding a taxi and the rest of the staff were more than willing to assist to every need and were very helpful in terms of general queries. The area is very vibey and very busy! Great food and well priced! One downside - the wi-fi connection was a tad slow but not a show stopper. You will not regret staying here!

I recently stayed at this hotel in Saigon and really enjoyed it. It's in a great location, very close to Ben Thanh Market. The staff are very helpful, and you can get transportation to and from the airport no problem. Also we (4 of us) took a car to Cu Chi tunnels and it was only 50USD total for a long drive in our own air conditioned car. My favorite part was the complementary breakfast, the sausage tomato omelette and the banana chocolate pancake were both delicious. Highly recommended! You definitely get what you pay for.

We were happy to stay in this hotel. Location is excellent - very central but quite, good comfortable beds, great frendly team, nice breakfasts. Rooms were not very large but ok for the price. Highly recommended to everyone.
