We spent nearly a month for our traveling. It's really tired and lust to have something in our normal style. We found it as a good point.

Thank Aliz E

Food was ok but the picture in the menu did not match what we ordered. In particular, the beef tacos looked like a good deal. The picture on the menu showed four tacos on a plate with (what looked like) shredded cheese. When we received the order there were two small tacos on a bed of lettuce. When I pointed it out to staff I was told "Is different" (well, duh).
The food was tasty, however. My reccommendation would be to confirm with the server that what you see in the menu is what you get on the plate.

We weren't convinced we'd be having a good meal here as the menu is so extensive we thought none could be good but we were pleasantly surprised.
First off the service was prompt and friendly. Cheapest beer we'd found so far in a restaurant in Vietnam. 10 000 for icy Saigon. It took us longer to decide on our meal than it took to arrive at our table.
We ordered chicken quesadillas and guaqamole and beef with lemongrass.
The quesadillas were unlike any I've had anywhere in the world but it was a very tasty meal. The guaqamole was fresh and delicious. The beef with lemongrass was tender and delicious with just the right amount of heat. All portions were nicely generous for the price.
The only downside was the constant interruptions by hawkers. They weren't rude and in your face and a polite 'no thank you' sent them on their way but it was every two minutes. I expect it happens at all places with tables on the streets in backpacker alley but if you want to avoid it, sit at a table well inside.
Overall a surprising good experience.

My wife and I visited Ho Chi Minh city in May of 2013. We discovered this place after visiting a nearby tourist office. We only had 30 minutes to eat, so we ordered something off of the Vietnamese menu and instructed them that we needed the food in a hurry.

We had a typical noodle dish, fried spring rolls and a Vietnamese curry dish. All of the food was fantastic, with multiple levels of flavor. Nothing was one-note. We were so pleased that we came back that night, one once more two days later. We tried several dishes, but all Vietnamese. We did not try the italian or american food.

They have fantastic nightly beer specials also, with prices cheaper than I could have possibly imagined. The staff in the restaurant are very kind and appreciate. However, the service is quite different that what you would typically expect (based on my american and european experiences.) You need to get the attention of the servers. They don't really check on you, but they always have an eye on you. If you just make eye-contact, they will be right over to help you. One other thing to remember about these little restaurants in this area: you get what you give. In other words, if you are kind and respectful to the servers and owners, they will be very respectful to you.

The setting is very dated but didn't feel dirty or nasty. There are a lot of vendors in this area, and they will come into the restaurant and ask if you are interested in their stuff. A smile and a polite "no thank you" will generally suffice. But do not ask how much something is, unless you are prepared to buy it. They will stay next to your booth for as long as you are eating, and the staff will do little to help, unless you ask them to get the vendor out.

I ate there a couple of times after a tiring morning in the city. It's well located and has the usual menu that can be found in the numerous restaurants all around it. Clean, friendly enough staff and the food is fine. Not fine cuisine, but filling and big portions. Good value for money.
