This restaurant is located across the road from the Grand Hotel, where we were staying. A charming and smiling young man who appeared to speak quite good English persuaded us that this was the place to have dinner.
Sadly, after that, everything which could go wrong did go wrong. The waiting staff had no English at all, and the young man who had lured us in had clearly learned from a script, since he was no help at all.
The beer was not cold. The food arrived in a completely haphazard order, with some of the main courses arriving before the starters. The Banh Xeo, which is supposed to be a crisp pancake, was limp and swimming in grease. The rice and noodles were only lukewarm. One of the main courses did not arrive until well after everyone had finished their meal. When we refused to accept it, the staff turned quite nasty. I added up the items on the bill which we had eaten, even though they really weren't very good, paid that total in cash and we left.
This is a place to be avoided!
