“Worth a visit”
Reviewed March 8, 2014 via mobile

Although its not as tall as most city towers at only 42 floors, the view from above is worth the visit.

Its good too that it has a bit of a write up of how Saigon came to be the bustling Ho Chi Minh it is today and the photos of old buildings juxtaposed to its current one on street level is a nice touch.

“View from top and nothing else”
Reviewed March 7, 2014

Nice view from the top and there is nothing else. There is no activity, no interactive with customers. Dont buy those souvenirs, just too expensive and nothing special. Anyway, Saigon is actually larger than you ever see!

“The view IS worth the coffee”
Reviewed March 2, 2014

We always check things out on tripadvisor and so glad we did as the tip for going to the café on level 50 and having a coffee while enjoying the view was definitely the way to go. Just ask at reception - very helpful. The only reason I can see to pay the money to go to skydeck would be to read about the city. Personally I would also recommend getting a feel for the city first because then you have a vague idea of what you are looking at from above. We could pick out the zoo, the opera house, where our son lives in district 2, and many rooftop swimming pools :) Yes it was a bit smoggy but we enjoyed an hour watching the boats on the river, the quiet Sunday traffic and just looking around :)

“Worth the "expensive"coffee”
Reviewed March 2, 2014 via mobile

Did this after a tip from our guide about not paying the fee and just asking for the coffee shop. We found the staff charming and helpful and we're not pressured to buy any more than a coffee. Okay was more expensive than at ground level but still cheaper than the entrance fee and you get coffee!
No brainer really.

Oh my GOD, I cannot express how angry I was with this place. As my wife previously wrote, it was filthy-chairs, floor, menus. When I requested a new menu the second menu I received was ALMOST as disgusting.
Upon looking through the over priced menu-apparently it costs so much more to stock a cafe 51 stories in the air-my family and I decided to split a couple of over priced desserts. After a couple of minutes, the waiter came over and stated that we had not ordered enough! I was momentarily taken aback, and then I just decided that this is the most rubbish service I have ever had in Saigon and that we were leaving WITHOUT purchasing ANYTHING. I have NEVER had a restaurant TELL me I have not ordered enough to eat. Who the heck tells you how much you should eat?
200 000 VND to go to the 49th floor, which looked pretty much like an empty floor glassed in to look out on the city-that is it, or going to the cafe where they expect you to pay upwards of 120 000 VND for a bottle of water that costs 10 000 VND or less on the street, 200 000VND for a coke, and 200 000+ for a dessert! What a joke! Save your money, and your time-it is no big whoop to see Saigon from this vantage point. Spend the money and go up the CN tower in Toronto, but avoid this over priced tourist trap!
