Went up the tower on 18 Dec, the lift speed was amazing, the views breathtaking, the mango smoothie in the restaurant on the 50th floor delicious, worth the money. Don't miss it

“Watch the sun set from the 52nd floor.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 21, 2013 via mobile

You can either pay 200,000VND and go to the 49th floor or go for 'free' to the 52nd floor and buy a drink. Our first thoughts were that the drinks were an extortionate price but once we found out we'd have had to pay to go to the 49th floor we saw it as a good way to watch the sun set. Drinks cost a minimum of 200,000VND.

To get to the Sky bar walk into the tower and ask at the desk for the bar. They take you to the lift and you get out on the 50th floor where there is a cafe. At this point you change lifts to go to the 52nd floor. The lift is extremely fast and smoothe. We only knew we were moving because our ears popped.

The windows were extremely dirty so we couldn't take many decent photographs. However, you get a 360' view of HCMC and the Mekong. Once the sun set we watched HCMC light up. It was an experience for both of us having never being higher than 14floors. Once the sun had gone below he horizon and the glare had gone from the windows you can get some good night shots.

This is not a cheap thing to do but it offers great views of the city and if you time it right you get to watch the sun set over HCMC with a drink.

This was a fun thing to do. I went to the 51st floor and had coffee, then 50th floor for an amazing view of the city.

“On Top of the World”

Two days are not enough to enjoy this technological and architectural marvel. Bang in the middle of the capital city of Ho Chi Minh City, rises this great edifice, inspired by the lotus, Vietnam’s national flower, to a height of 262 meters. Along the way you will find a heliport and you can see the choppers land and take off. You can buy a ticket to go to the Saigon Skydeck and once you are there, you will literally swoon with ecstasy at the breathtaking 360 degree view of the city. I recommend a visit when the sun is setting so as to catch both day-time and night time views as also the sun set. Just as the marvel is classy so are the prices, so be warned. The souvenir shop is adequately stocked to cater to all types of takeaways.

This is one of the best places to see all of Ho Chi Minh City. It costs a little bit to take the elevator up to the 49th floor but it is worth it. Sometimes the smog will make viewing a little difficult.
