We stayed here two nights as part of a group tour of Cambodia and Viet Nam. We flew in from Siem Reap and needed a restaurant for dinner. I took the suggestion of another trip advisor
and we took a taxi to Quon 3 Mien for dinner. Food was terrific; the taxi cost a few dollars, and
the dinner not much more. The hotel was super nice in every way. The shower was state of the art; we all loved it; the breakfast buffet was top notch. We had a wonderful view of the city from our room as well, especially nice at twilight and night. As the tour progressed, all of us used this as the standard of excellence for the other hotels we frequented

Dar valued guest,

Thank you for the nice comment. We made a lot of good changes this month with the aim to make our service much better than before. We are not sure of your opinion though as everyone has its own preference and we very well understand that being in the hospitality industry. Hopefully, you can visit us again and see for yourself the good changes we made from our restaurant to bar outlets. We look forward to welcoming you back here.

Checked in on a stopover from Melbourne to Hanoi... just for one night. Arrived late and upon check-in realised I had left my passport wallet in the taxi. As a well travelled person, this is a nightmare, especially when you're boarding a plane again the next day.

The ENTIRE team of reception staff and porters, managers... everyone got involved trying to track down this dodgy taxi. It was finally returned... thank goodness!

The room is gorgeous, very clean and very nicely decorated..... got a great price on agoda.

If you want to be looked after and need somewhere close to the airport, this is DEFINITELY your place!!!

This was a surprise as we just needed a stopover. Less than $5 to the airport a clean hotel with very friendly staff- staff everywhere really!! Rooms are large, bed comfortable and the included buffet starting at 6am suited us down to the ground. Our room and breakfast cost less than $100 so we were more than happy with scarcity. We had left a laptop at the airport taxi rank and reception staff immediately started phoning taxi company and translating to taxi driver to take us straight back to retrieve it. Despite the bad name that HMC taxis have, an employee at the rank had found it was very excited to give it back to my husband. He was overwhelmed as there was years of work on it as well.

Room was spacious and very clean.
I stayed on the 9th floor and I had the view of the city.
Food was delicious.
The only downside was the location which a bit far from local attraction such as Ben Thanh Market, Notre Dame etc.
However overall, I would definitely stay here again the next time I'm in Ho Chi Minh City.

Star City Saigon hotel is real value for money. Customer service and helpdesk is good and helpfull. Morning Breakfast is good as I am a vegetarian I really like it. Its rooms are good and spacious and view from the rooms are good. There is a Big C supermarket about 10 minutes walking. Also there is old Pagoda to visit nearby its the oldest in the town. The staff are polite and can speak fluent english. Easy to access any place in the town as there is a taxi stand at door-step, also the staff help to tell the taxi drivers for our destination as all the taxi drivers don’t knoe English, but some with whom we travel would speak some broken English. The only problem for us was the Dinner as they don’t had the vegetarian food so we need to do to District 1 for it, so this was the only issue. They also do the tour planning as they have a planner for us. We did like some tour which the offered but due to time problem did not take it, but my collegue he enjoyed the tour. So as per my recommendation please do stay and enjoy.

Room Tip: Go for the upper floor and the view is getting better and better. Must try the SPA also.

I've traveled all over Asia for the past 14 years, but this was my first time to visit Vietnam. Maybe my expectations were not correct, but, I wasn't nearly as impressed by this hotel as many of the other reviews.

On the good side, the hotel is, overall, nice. Reception service was good with no problems in English. The lobby is attractive with a large bar, live music (live music is not every night), etc. The rooms were spacious, tidy and nicely decorated.

The problem was with the cleanliness. The room wasn't "dirty" but it was far from "sanitary". There was no top sheet between the blanket and my body. I wonder how many others have slept under that blanket since the last time it was washed?

The linens were definitely washed (smelled clean) but the sheets were stained in several places. The carpet was badly in need of a steam cleaning (see photos). The bathroom sink did not drain well, and although the sink was large, a flat-bottom sink is impossible to keep clean. Ever try washing out a flat sink after your morning shave? Good luck with that.

One other issue was that I ordered up dinner from the restaurant on the Mezzanine floor, and they delivered my meal without any utensils. When I went down to fetch a fork, the restaurant was hesitant to give me one. How did they expect me to eat steaming hot noodles without a fork or chopsticks? Even a plastic fork would be just fine... How long has this place been in business?

Overall, the staff was very nice and I was comfortable enough sleeping in the room, but, I absolutely would NOT describe it as "clean". For the price they charge, it was not a good value, in my opinion. I would say the StarCity is a 3.5 star hotel with 4.5 star prices. It was ok, but next time I'll try someplace else.

Room Tip: Ask for a room NOT facing the noisy, busy street.
