My husband and I have now done two Vespa tours. One in Hanoi and the other in Hoi An. They were quite simply fantastic fun. Our Hanoi trip was in the evening and involved riding around that completely insane city where no one stops at red lights and pedestrians walk on the road because the pavements are full of scooters and traffic seems to use whatever side of the road they feel like. Somehow it works and we both felt completely safe at all times. We made several stops at authentic Vietnamese restaurants and ate some of the tastiest food you could imagine and it was fabulous. Our drivers were brilliant young guys and Kevan who seemed to be the boss met us at each stop with great explanations about cultural and culinary aspects of Vietnam.
Down in Hoi An we did a morning ride through the countryside on tiny wee roads and tracks visiting local craft workshops and a coffee roaster before finally having a delicious lunch back at the company offices. Again our drivers were brilliant, we always felt safe and Ty was great with his explanations of various local aspects of the tour. We could not have been looked after better and I would recommend a Vespa Tour to anyone as a great way of seeing and learning a lot in quite a short time.
You don’t need anything special just t shirt and jeans or shorts. Helmets were provided and adjusted for you and any age can enjoy it. I will be 70 on my next birthday and would do it again given a chance so a great big thank you to Kevan and the drivers in Hanoi and to Ty and my own driver here in Hoi An
