“Good choice for transit through Saigon”
Reviewed June 14, 2014

- Family owned hotel, and they seemed to be efficient and very pleasant.
We just stopped over after an evening arrival, and left after breakfast.
Basic rooms, but clean and staff were very helpful despite limited english language skills.
Hotel picked us up from airport as arranged 3 weeks previous, and dropped us back next morning to suit our schedule in their own vehicle.
Breakfast simple but sufficient.

Room Tip: 1st Floor as no lift.

This hotel is only ten min from the airport which makes it convenient as a first stop or last night stop over before leaving Saigon.
I wouldn't stay for any longer for the following reasons.
It's way too far from the city centre where most of the tours and attractions are either located or booked from.
It is definitely a CHEAP hotel in the truest sense. We paid about $14 AUD for the night for the standard room. For this you get a wet bathroom, (shower, toilet, sink all in one small area), a double bed, a fridge, complimentary water, tv, ac and that's pretty much it.
The bed and pillow are rock hard, the ac works but is old and u wonder what nasties lurk inside, the fridge works but you have to find the lead and plug it in, the tv works but reception was very poor, towels are small, and there are no tea, coffee making facilities.
While we were there a storm passed over and my roof leaked in two places.
The shower flick mixer fell off and shower head only trickled water.
There was signs of age everywhere like broken doors, cracked ceiling veneer and all the writing on the tv remote had worn away.
The room has a wall mounted fan which is always a plus for me. I like to be able to wash a shirt in the bathroom and hang it under the fan to dry overnight. Trouble is the fan was pointing at the floor and could not be adjusted. I used a water bottle to jam it in position.
I was also disappointed when I found out there is no elevator and we were on the third floor.
On a positive note, the staff carried our heavy luggage up and down the stairs and the place was clean and presentable.
I would stay here again although maybe try to get a lower floor.
The staff were very attentive and tried to help when ever they could. They pointed us in the right direction for the best Pho I have had in vietnam on this trip (only a 3 min walk from hotel) and also a very nice restaurant that serves a variety of specialty dishes like crickets, turtle, crab, deer and also the best hotpot I have ever had. The beer was cheap too at 14000 dong a can ( about 75c aud).
After dark the Main Street comes alive with all manner of shops open for business to the locals. You won't see many, if any, foreigners here and the locals are quite friendly. Watch your valuables though as a local told me that bag snatchers on motorbikes are common. But that's vietnam for you.
With a bit of basic maintenance and maybe a kettle to make a coffee in the room this would make this place perfect for a budget over night stay. I have stayed in a lot worse for a lot more.

Nothing more to say about the rooms than has already been said in previous reviews. We stayed one night and enjoyed poking around the neighborhood. There is a great pho shop around the corner (ask at the front desk). We also organized a pickup from the airport and the driver was there waiting for us with our name on a sign. This place is good value for the money ($12 USD) and the neighborhood is very nice and something a bit different than the usual in HCMC. Would definitely recommend.

Located in the lively and tourist-free District 3, this hotel is just 10 minutes away from the airport and further 10-15 minutes from District 1 of Saigon. You will find excellent food and coffee near by (Soi Da coffee place, many pho places and some beer, too) and if you get bored of street food available immediately on Le Van Sy, you can simply wander around little streets or the canal's promenade.

The best thing about the location is that you can experience the real Ho Chi Minh City there; there's none of posh pretence of the D1, there are no crazy backpackers around and all people that you can meet are real, honest and hardworking Vietnamese who are very friendly and helpful.

The staff of the hotel are super-friendly and very professional. For a small fee they will pick you up from the airport and do the laundry. We haven't tried any food in the hotel but this is just because there's so much of it around - I am sure that the hotel's kitchen is good.

Rooms are very clean and air-conditioned, the best of them being located on first and the second floor. Third floor rooms are good but these can get a bit loud since walls are somewhat thinner there... Strange but true. All rooms are cleaned daily with fresh towels and simple toiletries changed at each clean. There are no bugs or unpleasant smells, no problems whatsoever. In fact, this is the best place (quality vs. price) we've stayed in Asia so far!

We stayed at this hotel for 1 night during a brief stop over between flights in and out of Saigon Airport. We chose this hotel due to it's proximity to the airport and the cost. The hotel offer a pick up service from the airport but we opted for a taxi as thought it would be cheaper. The only issue with this hotel is it's location - it's on a quiet lane off a busy main road and our taxi driver could not find it. After going round in a circle, we pointed him in the correct direction and got out of the taxi one street away. The taxi was only 50K VND so if you get a taxi driver who knows where the hotel is located, the fare is more likely to be 35K VND (£1). Our standard double room was on the 3rd floor and was a good size. There is air conditioning, a wall mounted fan, desk and chair, TV, wardrobe, safety deposit box, complimentary water, fridge and in-room Wi-Fi. In the en-suite there was a nice powerful shower over a bath and some complimentary toiletries.

We paid £9 for our room when booking through the hotels own website and can't fault it for what we paid. It is basic and a little tired looking in places but for less than £10, we had nothing to complain about.

Hopefully you can show the pictures attached to your taxi driver and they'll find the hotel with more accuracy than ours did!

This is a great place to stay and excellent value for money. As always we enjoyed Vietnamese hospitality and efficiency here. I contacted the hotel ahead of time to arrange transport from and then back to the airport. Unfortunately our stay was brief (only over night due to connecting flights) but I would certainly go back. The beds and pillows were hard but the room was clean and well equipped with free wifi. Staff were friendly and helpful. Close to the airport.
