The Fito Museum (aka Phito Museum or the more proper Viet Nam Traditional Medicine Museum) is a clever and imaginative marketing vehicle for the Fito Pharmaceutical Company, Ltd. The staff are university trained curators with vast knowledge of traditional Chinese and Viet Namese herbal and natural medicines and their formulation. The docents conduct a fascinating tour of the beautifully restored building with its many display rooms featuring medicinal herbs, medicine associated relics and artifacts and various medical appliances of the period. As with most commercial attractions there is a gift shop at the end of the tour but the products are not pressure-sold. Well worth the time and price of admission. Located in a suburb of Sai Gon and not known to most taxi drivers so take a map with the museum location noted. Refreshing herbal tea is served to all visitors at the end of the tour.
