The Red House has potential to be a unique restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City. The cusines of this restaurant is a mixture of Vietnam culture seafood cusines mixed with with the spicy Singapore cusine seafood flavors. They featured the spicy red pepper and black pepper crabs mixed with other local spices. The menus are limited somewhat, even though, they offer you the local duck and chicken, beef favorites. It is obvious this restaurant is a high-end seafood venue with the emphasis on "money" and attracting "Viet Kieu" that is Vietnamese naturalized overseas and local Vietnamese with lots of money to spend. Service is marginal at best and they don't make foreigners welcome. The "Maiter De speaks good English, however, the other staff when you attempt to speak to speak English they run from the table in fear that they don't understand what the speaker is saying. The drink prices are reasonable for beer and smoothies, water, etc... The wine and special cocktails prices are very high. Don't try to pair your wine with your food dishes. Because, the wine is above market price for this menu. Wine prices are consistent with (5) Star hotel prices, locally. My best advise is for large groups with comprehensive tastes is to eat at the Legend Hotel or Carravelle Hotel buffet for the best value and quality tastes. I did not enjoy this culinary experience, and I would have a hard time reccomending this restaurant to anybody.
