Smack behind the Ben Thanh market in the city center, this hotel was clean, safe, easy to find and the service was great. Breakfast was not a highlight of our nights there but easily fixed with a short walk to Fanny's ice cream parlor :) around the corner.

Room Tip: We stayed in a room with no windows to make sure it was super quite at night

Great little hotel. Busy location but rooms at back are very quiet. But terrible breakfast In a city full of fresh baguettes why do the serve plastic sliced bread and it was the only hotel we stayed in that didnt serve beautiful fruit for breakfast. A simple change would make all the difference.

Staying in this hotel with my friend just only 1nite. The hotel less than a minute walk from Benh Tanh Market. We had booked Standard No Window. The room even though small but quite clean & the bed is very comfortable. What I liked the most is their bathroom & the amenities-unique & splendid!

Halo Hotel is now my prefered hotel in HCMC. It is family run, neat clean and very friendly and helpful staff. The receptionists have great senses of humour and have helped me out many times with advice etc. Breakfast is only average as it is always in Vietnam in 2 star places. It is very central, safe, friendlt and cost effective

Room Tip: Get a room with a window.

Stayed here for two nights before moving upcountry. We love this location near the market and in the hustle and bustle area of boutiques, salons, and restaurants. The deluxe room was clean, comfortable and cheery (the mattress was a bit hard). The staff were helpful and accommodating. We paid $US45 which we felt was a little high in this area. Overall, we were satisfied and might stay here again...if so, probably in a less expensive room (maybe the superior).
I see some people complain about the noise. In this neighborhood, you have to expect there will be noise and here are some tips: if you're a light sleeper, bring and use wax earplugs- you will need them in HCMC, Hanoi and elsewhere. Try to get a higher floor, and toward the back- but it will still be a bit noisy. It's not the hotel's fault- that's life here. Noisy! (if you found this review useful, please click 'yes' below).

Room Tip: Ask for a higher floor, toward the back

This is a lovely, small hotel in the middle of Than Bhann market square.
The location is very central but surprisingly, serene & peaceful!
The staff are friendly and helpful.
However, rooms may be slightly small, but the service makes up for it.
After all, who's gonna hide in the room the whole day when there is so much to
discover, within a few steps away from the hotel!

Room Tip: rooms that face the indoor garden may be more quiet than the one's facing the main road.

I was visiting HCMC as part of my South East Asia trip... and I booked this hotel based on the reviews (on other websites as well as Trips Advisor) as I wanted something cheap but yet clean and close to the main attractions.

How cute was this hotel? I love the fact that it was so close to Ben Thanh Market and within 10-15 minute walk to the other main sightseeing places (the War Remnants Museum and the Reunification Palace). The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean. The rooms are tiny but you're only sleeping there as you spend most of the day sightseeing! I opt for a room with a window… as I didn't fancy staying in a boxed room with no ventilation. The rooms are exactly how it is on the website. The breakfast menu is limited but very yummy.
The receptions are very polite and friendly. They are also willing to recommend restaurants and make bookings for you should there be a huge group (we had 8 in our party).

Also another good thing is there is a PC with free internet for its guests. Perfect for keeping in contact if you didn't take your smart phone out on your travels with you (like myself!)

Make sure you check out Pho 2000 restaurant – as it's only 5 mins walk away from the hotel – this was recommended by our tour guide when I went to the Cu Chi Tunnels!

I would thoroughly recommend this little boutique hotel! I would definitely stay there again should I visit HCMC.

Room Tip: I stayed in room 603 (i think) and it was one of the more spacious rooms in the hotel.
