After looking at the pics of this hotel, i changed my mind and cancelled my earlier booking through Agoda. This is my 2nd visit to HCMC and would like to try another hotel. I'm glad that i'v made a good choice. Stayed here for 5 nights.
Though the receptionists are not friendly (no welcome n smiling face at all).. my check-in went smoothly. Quite fast and efficient. Just show them the hotel voucher that i'v printed and in less than 10 mins i'm in my room. The Executive room was so comfortable to me. Impressive fittings and furniture used. (look more than a 3 star hotel). Flat screen tv,safebox,cofee-tea making facility, hair dryer, jacuzzi and your own PC in every room. (that's great of course!) .. Pls note that coffee/tea sachet is chargeable. Bring your own 3in1 coffemix if you are lazy to go out. Room was clean. Beds were spotless and pillows always makes me feel sleepy. Housekeeping staff are doing good job. Bathroom was also nice. Towels with nice fragrant.
They have 9 floors (if not mistaken)..and only 6/7 rooms on each floor. It's not soundproof!

Besides the unfriendly receptionists, i must say that the hotel restaurant is a No! Why? Because..it's too congested. Imagine you have to sit back to back and really squeeze in between 7/8 tables. Buffet spread was nothing. Not much choice given. 6 days of bread n butter n half boiled eggs. (the previous hotel i stayed serves more choice n better foods).

The location is just a minute or two to Ben Thanh Market. Many other shops around such as
boutiques, lingerie, hair saloon,pedicure/manicure spa, coffee shop etc...
Overall..i like this hotel because of the cleanliness, comfortable and affordable. Management should look into the front liners hospitality and upgrade the restaurant.

If you are looking for a good night sleep and rest after the day activities..i would suggest this hotel at it's best. But if you wanna have a heavy breakfast and likes to communicate with the staff/frontliners a lot..choose a different one then!

My husband came in to check the rate at a & em hotel 132 ly tu rong, receptionist said superior room for USD 45 is available. We left to check other hotel, we came back 15 minutes later to a & em hotel at 132 ly tu trong. Suddenly the receptionist said, all rooms are fully booked and they only have room for USD 60.

When I confront them with it, they said they didnt say to my husband that the USD 45 room is available. ??!!???!!!!!

A & EM Le Prince Hotel (on 132 Ly Tu Trong street) is part of a chain of mid-priced hotels located mostly in d same area. First impressions werent good - narrow frontage, everyone smoking away in d lobby... Receptionist wouldnt allow me to check into my suite at 11AM even though I knew it was empty n ready. In-room safe didnt work.

I don't recommend d restaurant - it was raining heavily one night so I decided to just eat in. It was deserted but unfortunately, I had to wait an hour for d food - & found out they had my order delivered from some other restaurant!!! Breakfast is a mess - restaurant is so small (maybe 200 sq ft), U have to squeeze inbetween d 7 tables n maybe 30chairs. Be early or be hungry/angry!

But overall, I would stay there again coz d suite was good value, my sanctuary amid d hustle & bustle.. D suite is like 3 times bigger than d regular rooms. Complete with your own PC. Room was clean. Beds were spotless. Housekeeping did a good job. AC was great. Faux parquet flooring. D bathroom was nice too, although its not advisable for seniors, coz U have to stand in d (potentially slippery) jacuzzi to take yr shower. Not very sensible. Water pressure & temp good.

Location is good, just around d corner (1 minute) from Ban Thanh market. Management should ensure receptionists & bellhops have a better grasp of English, but TIV - This Is Vietnam - a little bit of patience & understanding will go a long way. They try their best.. Overall, its a reasonably comfortable hotel.

P.S. Food recommendations: Dont miss d local coffee or Almond Latte@ Highlands Coffee (Parkson Dong Khoi branch - its better coffee & better service than at d Tax Center outlets), coconut ice cream @ Kem Bach Dang (near Ban Thanh), pho @ Pho Hua, spring rolls@ Wrap&Roll and soft shell crabs @ Quan94.

Room Tip: GET THE SUITE. Its worth it for d space.

We stayed here for 3 nights and had a great experience. The rooms are a bit small, but clean and comfortable. The location is perfect to walk to all the major sites and to the market. Each room has it's own computer, which was a nice surprise. The front desk staff is very good as well and speak great English.

We stayed here 2 times. First time we arrived, the room we had booked, one double bed was not available so we had to stay in a room of their choice. We had to accept. Than we made a trip to the Mekhing Delta and reconfirmed on the day of our departure that on the day we came back we had a room. They assured us that that was the case. However, on the day we arrived there was no room for us, because the hotel was fully booked. The only thing they could say was sorry. Than the rooms are very small. Hard to find a plave for your luggage, we had to put it in the wardrobe, so could not hang out our clothes. Than the rooms are very very noisy on the front, and even in the back, because of the hugh traffic on the street. Thousands of motorbikes driving there using their horn continuously. Than the price of US$ 55 is far too expensive for the rooms they offer. For us it was the first and the last stay in that hotel.

We stayed for 2 nights and very happy with this hotel service.
Pros: Centrally located on quite street so there is not much noise. There is internet access in each room which is very convenient. Room decor is beautiful and very clean. Staff is friendly and willing to help when asked.
Cons: Room area a bit small. Breakfast is just average but has a wide selection.
I recommend this hotel to anyone who is searching for a 3 star rating hotel.
