Owner description: Biking is the new way of travelling, challenges and exploring nature in the world recently. It is also the best way to explore local life, to meet locals at their home and getting to know people from over the world. Vietnam Backroads offers you a wide variety of bike trips which allows you to escape the crowds from touristy destinations and bike deeply into countryside; witness everyday life through the eyes of local Vietnamese and experience particular scenery on real back roads of Vietnam and Cambodia. We offer tailor-made, unique cycling routes and you can choose different level cycle routes. Our bike trips are special because they are individually tailored for each different group of riders and they can also be tailored the way you want. We are also specializing in meeting the needs of small groups – think family, work group or just a couple of mates! All bike trips are fully supported by our air conditioned vehicle. The truly magical thing about our bike riding is that you'll ride on small countryside back roads. Tours vary as to the ratio off on- and off- road riding, but remember our flexibility is the key here

Where do I begin?

Our guide was incredible; funny, great English, young, easygoing and always looking after us! Our driver (less English) was also great. We took a 3-day 2-night tour of the Mekong, and there was only two of us on the tour.

The blurb on the website is right; heading through rice fields, into villages, past monks and temples. If you want to experience the real Vietnam, head on a tour with Vietnam Backroads, because it is truly the backroads and the local life that you will experience.

We didn't see a tourist for the whole time (bar a few at Can Tho at the floating markets). The itinerary and amount of cycling each day is totally flexible, and the bikes run well. The guide also carries tools.

Lastly, if you want to taste Vietnamese food, then go with Backroads; our guide made us try pretty much everything in sight!
