I live in Nha Trang, Vietnam and stayed there for a night whilst my parents were in Saigon visited from the UK. The parents room wasn't too bad, however everything in my room was covered in mold and the room stank to high heaven. I complained to the hotel staff and asked for another room, however they were full. It was late and I didn't want to uproot my 70 year old mother so asked for the room to be cleaned. They eventually sent a porter upstairs who rubbed one wall down then disappeared never to be seen again.
We were leaving early the next day so I just got into bed and tried o sleep. In the morning on complaining, no discount was offered, however they did agree to scrub the room. Due to the design of the building, most of the rooms have no windows or ventilation, therefore are very foisty and damp which played havoc with my asthma. Due to the hotel having a lift and easy access at the front (I didn't want my Mum tripping on an uneven surface or getting knocked over by a cyclo), I rebooked 2 more rooms for 3 weeks later and specified I would like 2 clean rooms this time. I gave them my mobile number and asked them to call if there was any problems.
The evening prior to our arrival I received a text from the hotel saying they were full. In summary: Breakfast terrible, rooms decent but very damp and smelly, staff admin shocking. The hotel looks great from the front, however like most things in Vietnam, this is for show. 3 star hotel with a zero star service.
Needless to say we won't be staying there again.
