This place is totally cozy! It's perfect for a romantic dinner. I haven't tried a lot of Vietnamese food but this is the place to be for Vietnamese Cuisine. It's quite hard to find, but let me give a hint, you're on the right path if the taxi driver drove you to the end of Hai Ba Trung St. and turned right. Before you go here, make sure you have reserved a table because they get full reservations on night, so reserve your tables, EARLY! Always bring a written address of where you're going and just show it to the driver :) Anyway, we tried the Deep Fried Tofu with lemon grass and chili, beef soup, pomelo salad, shrimp with coconut, pork in claypot....THEY WERE ALL VERY GOOD. And also try their Fresh Fruit Juices! Presentation is off the hook!

I can't say I have tried a lot Vietnamese restaurants. A few back in Europe and a night cruise restaurant on Saigon River which was not bad. But if Michelin Guide should ever dare to come out here this is the restaurant that would be recommanded as the best. Genuine Vietnamese food rich flavoured. Situated in a little dark road far from mainstreet. Had to use Google maps to find it. But worth finding

Dined here on then 27th. Of October after a recommendation fro our tour guide. Loved the location down an alley that has one wondering if the taxi driver has lost his way. Very warm and friendly entrance hidden behind a wall with outdoor dining as an option. A bit muggy outside so we opted for inside.
Very cold beers on order with cool face towels to wipe the face and hands. The menu is a unique tome of enticing dishes.
The food when delivered was hot and very well presented. Very tasty, indeed divine. Great fusion food that I have not seen replicated anywhere inside of Vietnam or out.
Service very efficient, friendly and professional.
My only query was the bowl I given to eat out of was badly chipped. On requesting a new one it was forthcoming without delay. Bowl in which Soy sauce was served also chipped and cracked.
Just wondered if this is a feature of the architecturally designed restaurant?
Food was also very reasonable priced and good value for money.
Would revisit without hesitation and also recommend as a great place to eat.

This restaurant is in an old colonial era home, and the interior is very interesting and inviting. One enters by walking on a narrow footbridge overview water, and then we climbed steep stairs to the second floor. Warning: this might be a little challenging for someone old or unstable. The food is (almost) uniformly excellent. We ordered fried fish which was overlooked and dry. But--everything else was delicious. Service was efficient and fast, although we did not feel rushed. We would definitely go again. A memorable dining experience.

We had to take 2 cab rides (the first one took us to the wrong place, hopefully not intentional). With the typical Saigon traffic, this place is around 15-20 minutes away from the backpacker's area.

Their Homemade Tofu is the best! Order it fried with lemongrass and chili, and be prepared to write your own review!

They have an extensive menu, with mostly vegetable courses. We also tried the Sauteed Zucchini Flowers, Prawns in Coconut and Fried Chicken with Fish Sauce. All of which I would highly recommend.

The dining area(s) is(are) also nice, since the restaurant is actually an old house with very interesting pieces.

The only negative I can think of is the distance to the city center, and the fact that it is hard to find. Especially if you are a tourist and the cab driver cannot understand your instructions well and/or does not know about the place.

But then again, the food and ambiance is worth the hassle.

Tip: Book in advance. They get pretty full. The restaurant gained more popularity recently when Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie had lunch there (from what I read).
