Recommend by a friend of mine who visited this restaurant. On our last night in Ho Chih Minh City we patronized this restaurant. Opposite to Park Hyatt in a little square, the location is good. The food is excellent and the staff is very courteous. Turn out the price is more than reasonable. US45.60 for a decent dinner for two plus drinks. Good Deal.

Stepping into the chic restaurant, we were a bit skeptical abt whether this was going to give us an authentic local Dining experience. Only 1 table seemed like locals, rest were obvious tourists. That said, most nice places in district 1 are like this. Cautiously, we ordered a wrap and shaking beef, both were tasty, especially the shaking beef, very tender and juicy, on top of a bed of greens, lightly salted with soy sauce. so we added grilled spareribs, also nice, crispy and tender, not chewy at all. Dessert was fried sticky rice balls with bean paste fillings. Total Bill was less than 40k per head, good value for money. Not much service to speak of tho, the waiter kept asking if we needed more beer, which was annoying.

We went to try the food as we were thinking of doing a cooking lesson there. Set in a little courtyard with several other restaurants a 5 minute walk from the Intercontinental Hotel we wonderful meal. Everything was absolutely fresh and cooked to order, would recommend the mixed platter for 2 as a starter if you didn't know Vietnamese foor. Wonderful place to start learning about vietnamese food.
ps. we then did a private cooking lesson - mainly as the class one was full. Will definitely go back for both more meals and lessons.

Situated in a courtyard you wouldn't find without finding out about it on tripadvisor, this restaurant is a pleasant setting with good Vietnamese food. We loved the make your own spring rolls! Brown rice dish was good, the chicken a bit chewy and fatty. Overall a good place with funky couches and outdoor dining.

We had some great meals in Saigon but the meal at Hoa Tuc was definately the best. Set in the corner of a courtyard, the setting was quiet and romantic, the staff really friendly and the food amazing. Would highly recommend the mixed starter for 2 if you're just being introduced to Vietnamese food as it has a bit of everything.

It is a little difficult to find. Keep a note of the street number and look for the restauarant sign by an archway leading down a small passageway. Also, this place is popular so would advise booking at the weekends.
