“Nice staffs, Delicious breakfast :)”
Reviewed January 19, 2013

The receptionist speaks English fluently, and dealt with the emergency really well.
Pho bo(rice noodle with beef) as breakfast was the best among those I had in Vietnam.
The room was clean and hair dryer in there was really useful.
The road to Cat Huy is little bit narrow, but you will love it when it turns out to be a traditional local market in the morning.

Nice stay in Ho Chi Minh, good choice. Hotel staffs were very polite and helpful at recommending day activities, restaurants, arrange tour. Our room was not very large but nice, clean. Location was another good point, in walking distance of many attraction, just a few steps you can find local shop selling souvenir, handmade stuffs. Really value for money, highly recommended!

Don't be put off by the lane way this hotel is located in. In the morning it is transformed into a local market that offers a glimspe into vietnamese city life aswell as providing you with some good photo ops'.
The fact that there isn't a lift wasn't such a big deal for us because we were only on the 4th floor and the staff carried our luggage up and down for us. We found them to be very helpful, especially the young man who slept in reception on new years eve as he had locked the front doors for security reasons and waited up for guests ariving back a the hotel throughout the night. The only small let down was that the breakfast wasn't as god as we have had in other hotels during our time in vietnam.
I would recommend this hotel for budget travellers wanting a little bit of luxury.

Room Tip: Try and book on a lower floor due to there being no lift.

We stayed her for 3 nights after reading the positive views on TA but were quite disappointed overall!

PROS:
Our room was relatively large and clean. There was a/c and TV and free Internet
It is close to the backpacker haven of Pham Ngu Lao so there was food and drinks nearby. That's about it.

CONS:
There is no safe in the room.
The remote it our a/c did not work (we had to get them to replace the batteries); the lit in the bathroom was broken (we had to ask them twice to come and fix it).
The two sets of towels we were given in the room were thin and threadbare, and extremely small! They were more like hand towels than bath towels. Reception refused to replace them or give us new ones. Every day, the towels had strange marks and stains on them. Quite disgusting.
We only had two small bottles of water for our entire stay (not replaced each day). A nuisance after walking around in sweltering heat all day, climbing six flights of stairs and having nothing to drink!
We ran out of soap and shampoo, and has to remind them twice to replace it (they didn't replace them during housekeeping).
We had to lug our own suitcases and our weary bodies up SIX flights of stairs every day as there was no lift. Our request to be moved to a lower floor was met with an unconvincing "sorry, fully booked" (highly unlikely as we did not meet a single other guest throughout out stay there!)
We went for breakfast at around 9.30am and 9.50am on two days (it ends at 10am) and both times we were told that they had stopped serving food. Don't bother paying for breakfast here, you are better off going to one of the stalls on the street.
Tour buses will refuse to pick you up from the hotel as it is located down a dark and dingy alleyway past a row of homes and they have no way of getting to it. Walking down this alley at night isn't a very good feeling; definitely not recommended for solo female travelers.

In other words, it's cheap, but you get what you're paying for.

Stayed here for 1 night but I wouldn't stay longer. The reason being the room was just so small with an equally small bathroom. Its also located down a long alleyway and some taxi drivers don't know where it is. The view from our window was directly looking into someone's balcony and an alleyway, not very pretty. Also my friend and I had to carry our heavy bags up and down the stairs as reception is on the second level and we didn't receive any help.
Having said that, rooms are clean and well maintained and staff are helpful. It is also a 10 minute walk from Ben tahn market.

Old bathroom, non welcoming staff, no guests after 22:00, no safe box in room, gate closes at 12 AM, it's a no star hotel -- a hostel, the Delux room is ok, good size, very basic breakfast, I do suggest to stay someplace else.

You have to walk for a few minutes to find this hotel in an alley but it is clean and the staff are friendly. In the morning, the alley transforms into a market and is very interesting. The hotel is also just a few blocks away from restaurants and the famous Bhen Than market. I find the pillows too bulky though this did not prevent me from having a good rest.

Room Tip: Request for 2nd or 3rd floor rooms
