“Good hotel in a great location with pleasant service.”
Reviewed December 27, 2012 via mobile

Stayed 4 nights in mid-Dec. Rooms were smaller than expected but sufficient for two but more importantly clean. Room service was prompt. Breakfast was good with both Western and Asian choices. Front desk was courteous and spoke English, so no problems communicating, and Hoang the doorman was especially friendly and cheerful. Hotel location was good, just round the corner to Ben Thanh market and no more than 15-20min walk to all attractions and main shopping areas in Dist.1. Lots of hotels along same stretch of road and around neughbouring streets, each with own security staff, so quite safe area. Still, watch your pockets as one of our group fell victim to a pickpocket when a bike nudged him from behind into a crowd along busy Le Loi road, where we believe the pickpocket was waiting. The bike was a distraction, and these often work in teams. Best to leave all valuables, smartphones, jewellery etc. in hotel safe, provided in each room. Sanouva staff was very helpful in accompanying us to police station to make a report. I highly recommend this hotel and would stay again if I return to HCMC.

I feel a bit guilty just calling this hotel average but it is what it is. The staff is fantastic! They went out of their way to make you feel welcome and help in any way they could. It is in a good location close to what you want to see in District 1. We made our own walking tour of the sights and enjoyed the small streets and alleys for all they were worth. My issue is with the rooms. They are on the small side which is ok, but you could hear the people in the adjoining rooms while they were in normal conversation. And I don't mean hear murmurs you could hear their conversation. We could hear people from goodness knows where when they had come in from a night on the town. There are only six rooms on a floor so it must have been from above or below us. If you are lucky and get quiet people around you I guess its ok but we weren't that lucky. The dining area is small but it seemed there was enough coming and going to always get a seat.

This is a great hotel in HCMC - only a short walk to Ben Thanh Markets. Room and bathroom were quite spacious and clean. Only negative thing to point out was the breakfast - not a big selection and the dining area was quite small. It can get very busy - we had to sit next to other people on the table to sit down. But otherwise everything was ok especially for the price we had paid! Will stay here again in HCMC.

Great value for money, clean rooms, friendly staff, good location.
This Hotel is perfect for the travellor who wants a comfortable bed at the end of a busy day. Not the place for people who are wanting to spend time in their room/hotel as rooms are on the smaller side.
For the price that we paid per night- it suited us fine

Sanouva boasts a well decorated and organised, scented lobby, alongside properly maintained rooms and a group of friendly staff. Sanouva is very clean and the atmosphere is what travellers would certainly enjoy after a long walk under HCMC's heat. Despite a smaller breakfast spread and dining area, the food is nice and they do offer coffee of a rather good standard. We stayed on the 5th floor and we paid for Savouna Deluxe rooms which offered us a good view of the streets. There was noise but bearable and we did not had difficulty sleeping.

Sanouva's location is rather convenient as it is close to shopping areas such as the Ben Thanh Market. If you have any intentions on travelling further, I am sure the receptionist would be glad to assist you in getting a taxi.

A tip of advice: Many people in HCMC can actually understand Chinese and Cantonese. If you do not speak any of these languages (including English of course), I suggest you speak to the receptionist or the bellboy and ask for help.

We had a great stay and I would like to thank the manager and the staff for the great hospitality.

Saw this hotel several times but just stayed there for 2 nights in early Dec. Nice and clean room but a bit small. Breakfast was good, however you should be early bird or late comer to enjoy the BF better- dining room is too small for 40+ room hotel. Every one was waiting for table.

Recommended for couples and families but big group

Room Tip: In the rear with large window
