“Quiet, basic, personal touch, comfy bed”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 8, 2014

We stayed for two nights at NK on a return visit to Saigon, having stayed in the same area the last time, but on a much noisier street. NK in just around the corner from all the craziness, but it is quiet! What a relief. The alley does have the hotel (and other hotels) listed on the sign, but the easiest way to find it is to go west from Allez Boo, and once you pass the Burger King and JJ's Brazilian BBQ (above Burger King), it will be the first alley immediately to your left. The hotel is halfway down the alley to the left. The place is well staffed and they are always ready to help.

Shower was hot, the wifi worked well (FB is blocked by their ISP, but you can find other places that don't have an ISP which blocks FB), the tv had a few English movie channels. A/C was quiet too.

The room was certainly on the small side, but if you're there for a short stay, it is fine. Hotel was clean too. Breakfast is really basic, but perfect to start the day. There is also a computer with a printer that guests can use in the lobby, which is a bonus if you've got to print out your next hotel booking or ticket.

Room Tip: There is no lift, so if you don't want to climb, seek out a room on a lower floor.

To start off, this hotel is placed in a convenient location where you could easily take bus 152 from Tan Son Nhat Airport to arrive here. Although it is in a small alley, it was rather easy to locate this hotel as there is a giant signboard at both entrance of this alley. There are many places of interests nearby like the Ben Thanh Market, Reunification Palace, and Central Post office. When we first reached the hotel, we were warmly welcome by the friendly receptionist who served us with great tasting pineapple juice. With much haste, she sent people to prepare our rooms for us. She was accommodating and offered us an extra bed in the deluxe triple room as we came as a group of 4.

There is a shoe rack at the entrance of the hotel, where we are nicely asked to place our shoes there. As such, the hotel is extremely clean. The hotel rooms are well equipped with basic facilities like television, heater and WiFi. The beds provided were comfortable to ensure a good night sleep after a long day's walk in Saigon. In addition, they provide laundry services at a cheap rate. The noisy level was low as it is located in a small alley away from the busy roads of Saigon.

As for the service, I believe it was one of the best service you can ever expect. The hotel staffs were friendly and helpful. The receptionist was quite fluent with English thus communicating with her would be convenient. She is also knowledgeable about the places around the hotel and can recommend you places to go depending on what your interests are. We followed her recommendations and are glad that the places she recommends are worth going. If you'd like, she would also teach you certain commonly used Vietnamese phrases which would help you in your stay in Saigon. Room service was done daily and new bed sheets and towels smells fresh.

You can also sign up for certain tours via the hotel, and they also sell cheap mineral water to ensure that you are well hydrated. The breakfast timing is 7-10am which is flexible and allows you to stay up later in the night and still make it on time for the breakfast. There are 5 breakfast sets to choose from to ensure variety. The breakfast is delicious and is a good kick-start for your day.

Overall, I think this hotel is great for value, and if you are going to visit Saigon, this is the hotel you should stay in.

Room Tip: There are 5 levels to choose from. The higher you go, the more stairs you have to climb, but the les...

A lovely little hotel with simple but clean rooms. However it was the staff that made this hotel really special. I got my purse stolen one night on the street, when I got back to the hotel, one of the boys stayed up until 3.30am helping me contact the bank, insurance company and the police. The next morning they took me to the police station and translated my police report and then waited with me there for them to file it and what not. The police unfortunately we're not so helpful! I cannot tell you how grateful I am for their help. Highly recommend this place!

We couldn't have landed at a better hotel when we visited Ho Chi Minh in Dec 2013. From the minute we walked in, the hotel receptionist Ms Huong, really looked after us. The hotel ream was clean and air conditioned, and was made up every day. Breakfast was simple - fresh bread and eggs. Centrally located with plenty of bars and restaurants. Ms Huong gave us some amazing recommendations of places to eat, including the best Pho we've ever eaten. Highly recommend staying here if you're in Ho Chi Minh City.

Nice and clean hotel in a quiet street just around the corner of a very busy but nice backpacker street with all kinds of small restaurants and bars. The breakfast is simple but ok.The owner is very nice and helpfull.

The area feels save, even in the night. In the neighbourhood of the hotel you can find a couple of supermarkets and some ATM's. There are also some travelagencies where you can buy tickets for example a Mekong Delta daytour and bustickets to Phnom Penh. They will pick you up from here, so you don't have to walk far with your backpack or luggage.

Room Tip: There are rooms without a window. We took the one with a window. The rooms are not big but clean. Th...
