We're one of the few people there who are tourists. I have a local Vietnamese friend and this is recommended by her as she eats there a lot. The place is interesting because there're tons of food already before you even sit down. The tons of herbs, cakes, fried dough etc are all on the table for you to have alongside with pho. The pho itself is great; awesome soup, tender beef. The vietnamese coffee there is great too!

After learning about Pho in northern Virginia, I felt like I'd come to Mecca. Two bowls with brisket and steak, a beer, two coffees and an ice tea for $9.

They say in Vietnam that pho is the breakfast of champions... After a bus journey from Nha trang my boyfriend and I arrived in HCMC at 6am and after reading great reviews on Pho Hoa we headed here, arriving at 7am we really got a feel of the Vietnamese breakfast and start to the day. We both had the pork pho with an excellent broth, probably the best pho we had in Vietnam over a 2 week trip of trying a pho or bun each day. The staff spoke little English but this is the sort of place you really don't need to communicate dish comes quick and efficiently. Would recommend to anyone visiting Saigon and looking for a great pho with free serving of local atmosphere to go with it.

You should try Pho Hoa at lease once when you are in HCMC. Other than getting a good pho, there is the whole experience of how locals would have their pho. If you are not familiar with it, it may be a bit confused as you are expected to FYI and add what you like to the clear soup noodle bundles of herbs, sauces and condiments on the table.
