on the first day, the room is good, comfortable, quiet.. BUT, when we go down to eat breakfast the waiters in not courteous, not obedient, not helpful... until the last of staying there.. we cannot see that they are helping us... and they are so proud of themselves.. i could punch there faces after!... the foods are not delicious.. that hotel is disgusting

First impressions of this place was great, the room was clean and modern although small. We noticed there was not a window, but thought that would mean it would be quiet...how wrong we were. The walls between the bathrooms are paper thin, awoken one morning by the sound of our neighbour vomiting up his guts... which was delightful. At 8am to 9am the building work started banging and drilling coming from the next room and upstairs, it was so loud couldn't even hear ourselves talk to each other. It took three phone calls to reception and threats that we wanted a refund for them to stop the noise. The door to the hallway was pretty thin too, and was woken up at 7am on another day as a guy was banging all the doors trying to get the attention of his friend... heard every word. A good walk away from the Pham Ngu Lao area, we ended up moving to an excellent 3 star hotel called liberty 3 in the heart of this area and negotiated the same price that we were paying at this bad hotel. Don't do it to yourself...stay somewhere else.

I usually stay with family in Vietnam, but for a few days I wanted to be near teh tourist stuff. So we took a few days and went to a hotel. While in Vietnam I tend to stay away from larger hotels. I guess I just prefer to feel like I'm in Vietnam. This place is clean, friendly and a decent price. It's in a great location. What more can I really say.

Average Hotel, good location. Internet connection was bad. Breakfast forget it, rather go outside. Located near to ben Than market, within walking distance. I felt insecure when someone rang in the middle of the night asking for my Vietnamese fiancee who happened to stay with me for 2 nights. We reported to the hotel reception the next day and they claim no one rang us. Very annoying and strange.

The hotel was really a great deal. I got to know about it through a guy I met at the airport who comes to HCMC very two months for a few weeks. He uses the hotel because of its central location, friendly staff and very clean and reasonably seized rooms. Having all the sights in walking distance in addition to the backpacking quarter and some more high class restaurants and bars made the stay perfect.

Really good location in District 1 close to the Market. Our rooms didn't have windows which we weren't made aware of before booking but were ok apart from that.

Staff were not friendly and not that bothered by our presence although when asked for advice did respond.

Breakfast was aimed at the Vietnamese market so think cold eggs and rice gruel.

Main problem was very noisy cleaners on their walkie talkies banging around in the morning outside our rooms!

Overall this place wasn't bad, but it wasn't the cheapest hotel and sadly the staff were keen to try and book you on tours/cabs that were just plain overpriced.
