The Landmark is an office cum service apartment building, facing the Saigon River and in the heart of the city center. It is one of the first buildings to be built by The Peninsula Group from Hong Kong, when Vietnam opened its doors in the early nineties. The service apartments have just been newly renovated and its comfortable. Its worth a stay for a few nights or on a short, medium and long term lease.

So I'll be the first.... First of all, the sign on the top of the building which houses this hotel (or rather these serviced apartments) says Bank of Tokyo - tell this to the taxi driver and he might know where it is!! The Landmark sign is small and stuck in the groun outside the building. That's the only drawback - unless you want a full service hotel charging an earth for drinks and breakfast!! 24hr reception, immaculately clean apartments are floor 9 upwards (to 15), so great views and the rooms are enormous - massive bed, sofa, dining table and chairs, kitchenette, flat screen TV, free WiFi (great connection), great bathroom and toiletries. Added to this a rooftop pool which guests can use (after check out time), superb gym - even squash courts. Superb top floor restuarant if you feel inclined - luncheon special (designed to appeal to the office workers in the building) is great value at 80kVND (inc. soft drink) - and can be served at poolside. No dpoubt where we will be staying when we visit Saigon again.

Room tip: River view room is great - and only £3 extra - but gets some traffic noise - city view rooms probably a bit quieter.
