Probably didn't expect to find a food hall at the bottom on the stairs, but a nice surprise. Lots of variety. Was great that everyone got to eat something different. 10 year old got to have pizza, while the rest of the family had delicious noodles. Also a supermarket in the same complex so stocked up on water, drinks and chips for later.

This new food court opened less than a year ago. It is in the style of a Singapore hawker center, with several vendors tightly packed together offering a wide variety of food choices. The city converted a concrete underground parking lot into a new shopping area that includes this Asiana Food Town, along with another multi-restaurant area called Downtown Food, with is more upscale than Asiana Food Town.

The Backpacker District has an almost unlimited selection of restaurants. This adds to the selection, offering a sheltered, relatively cool and quiet, place to eat. Wander around the stalls and select what looks good. You should be happy with your choices. You will have to walk down some stairs to get into the mall. There are big Enter Here signs overhead, so just look for these. This is at the end of the park on Pham Ngu Lao Street.

The Asiana Food Town is located at the basement of the Sense Market, a new shopping mall in the heart of HCMC that is opened not too long ago. It is located next to the Saigon Central Park and Love Lake.

We passed by the place in searching for a good place to have dinner one evening. It was 7plus when we arrived. We were attracted by the name Food Town and thought we could find interesting and nice local food here and true enough, there were about 60+ food stalls selling all kinds of Asian food cuisines. You will be spoiled for choices if you have not made up your mind what to have prior to coming here as everything looks so tempting and nice.

The Food Town is more like an air-con Food Court, with the exception that instead of "self service", the food would be served to you at your seating table when ready. Prices are competitively reasonable (though maybe slightly higher than the street food stalls but still cheaper than at other food courts or restaurants).

After walking around the place, we managed to find an empty table though it was very crowded. We decided to have the authentic Vietnamese Pork Pho Noodles with Soup and a BBQ Pork Platter with Spring Rolls. After ordering and making our payment, we returned to our seats and the food were served shortly.

First, must comment that the portion was huge. Second, the food were extremely tasty. The Pho noodles soup was superb, very flavoourful and enriching with lots of pieces of pork slices. As for the BBQ platter, it was heavenly as the pork were well marinated with nice flavours and grilled/BBQ to perfection (I think one of the must have ingredient is the lemongrass and lime besides fish sauce and other spices). We were also provided with lots of lettuces and mint leaves together with the spring roll skins where we could wrap it up ourselves and enjoy this traditional Vietnamese food. (to some extent, we thought we were in Korea, very similar to how to eat this dish).

It was definitely great value for money as both dishes cost about US$10. It was relatively cheap, considering the great portion and yummy food!

We didn't order any drink here as we decided to move on to other places to try other drinks and food thereafter.

Do note that besides the Asiana Food Town here in Sense Market, there is also a mini-supermarket here, some restaurants here and about hundreds of stalls selling fashion, bags, shoes, costume jewelry here (prices here are similar/slightly higher to those stalls in the Benh Thanh Night Market perhaps due to it air-conditioned environment) etc.

Recommend for food (especially if you are staying nearby) and as for shopping, can just window shop if you are on a "bargain trail"!
