Tan Hai Long Hotel & Spa is located at Le Lai Street, near a very busy intersection at the Ben Thanh market area. Being in such a prime location, the traffic noise was inevitable..but from higher floors it was not really noticeable.
Check-in was a breeze with English-speaking staffs. I did not like their policy of keeping guests' passports during our stay, so find another hotel if you're not comfortable with this. Room was small, felt very restricted..but on the plus side it was clean. They have WiFi which I had trouble connecting to (but wasn't really bothered since I was out of the room a lot) & very limited cable selections. Breakfast was fine. They even had a Halal section for Muslim guests, but I don't know whether they actually use a different set of plates & utensils for this section.
Taxis were readily available outside the hotel. We took the reliable Vinasun most of the time but their drivers didn't speak a word of English so it can be hard to communicate. Had a good trip to Cu Chi tunnel & Mekong River delta from the hotel..plus some shopping at the nearby Ben Thanh market & the rows of shops nearby.
Convenient location, small rooms, but definitely value for money.More
