“Overpriced”
Reviewed August 10, 2012

It is a very nice restaurant, but too expensive for HCMC. This is the most French restaurant I've been too. Seriously there are nicer ones at the fraction of the price in here.

“Classic French Dining”
Reviewed July 19, 2012

Judy and I were determined that our first meal on returning to HCM City after four years would be at Le Bordeaux. Our memories of this underrated established were so positive that we had to see if it had maintained its classic, high French standards.

Well it has!

Le Bordeaux suffers a little from its obscure location - quite distant from the city centre but don't let this put you off the experience - make sure you have a reservation.

Silver service is of the highest standard and the ambience of this two story establishment makes you feel as though you are somewhere special for a celebration.

We dined on: crab meat in pastry curry; asparagus with hollandaise sauce, light salad with foie gras; roasted rack of lamb with garlic cream; and fillet of beef in red wine sauce. All of these were classic, traditional offerings of the highest quality and presentation - just lovely!

We chose a Châteaux Graves d'Ardonneau by the glass and a fine bottle of red from Cotes de Belaye - from a very well constructed wine menu.

Total cost for two was around $50au. You wouldn't get this meal for under $200 back home in Perth!!

Judy and I can thoroughly recommend this restaurant. It deserved to be ranked higher on the list of French restaurants in HCM City.

“Place of high class”
Reviewed February 14, 2012

This is one of the classiest restaurants in HCMC - the decor, quality of food and service are excellent. It is not particularly cheap, but not excessively expensive either (especially when taking into account what you get for your money). It is excellent place for a romantic evening, nice business dinner or family/friends outing. It is not noisy or smoky , so you would fell very comfortable to chat and to stay longer. Their bar is also well stuffed with international brands of liqueurs as well as French cognac, armagnac and calvados. Food is French with reasonable sophistication, so it is great for special occasions. The only less positive feature of the place - it is not in the center, though it is not too far from there either. And of course, if it would be in the center of the city the prices would be much higher. All in all it is a great place, and we certainly will be back

“First class french restaurant”
Reviewed December 14, 2011

I've been to this restaurant a couple of times. I must say this is by far the best in HCMC. The atmosphere is classy and the service is impeccable. I've tried their scallops, fish and lamb and i must say they are excellent especially the lamb. It was succulent, tender and cooked to perfection. They make their own bread which is delicious French style, crusty outer and soft inner with a marvelous flavour. The souffle is mouth-watering and without doubt, the best I have tasted in South East Asia.

“Great place, good service, delicious food & pricey!”
Reviewed December 7, 2011

I and my husband have been to this restaurant many times, most of times for special occassion. The place is nice, french style and good decoration.
However i felt a little cold at their lounge ... The food was definitely good, delicious and perfect. We hardly see the chef comes out ...
Everything is better than average but not an excellent level. The price is quite expensive for local, but it worth!
