I have called in here a few times whilst out shopping in the day time. The sandwiches are absolutely delicious. It is also such a treat to find real sandwiches. Although baguettes and rolls are very welcome, until now I have been unable to find a sandwich made of two pieces of bread unless it has been Vietnamese bread which has added sugar to it and tastes sweet. This to me ruins the whole savory sandwich. But in the Hanoi Sandwhich House the bread is baked on the premises and tastes exactly as delicious savory bread should taste, with a lovely texture. The first time my sandwich was toasted even though the sandwiches are not advertised as toasted sandwhiches but since then I have asked for the sandwich to just be served untoasted as fresh bread and it is perfect! I nearly always choose 'The English' as it is so exceptionally tasty. I am sure that many others are too so I really must try a different one next time. I always ask for the English to be made with multi grain bread which is melt in your mouth delicious, and it comes with cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and spring onions - and here is the surprising part - thinly sliced apple and mango chutney. The combination is divine. It also comes served with home made potato chips which provide a nice contrasting texture as well as being a tasty addition. Unless you're really hungry I think the sandwich could even be shared between two because it is such a large generous portion. But if you are very hungry then this is definitely going to satisfy. A place to call into again and again.
