We recently returned from a trip to Vietnam, although we sayed in some amazing places and hotels I would like to recommend this one to all travellers plannning to visit Hanoi. You can view pictures of all the hotels on the internet but you cannot judge how friendly a place is, Dong Thanh Hotel was the most helpful & welcoming place that we stayed. The staff were extremely friendly and generous. The best example of this was when we arrived in our next holiday destination I realised I had foolishly left my necklace in a spa down the road from the hotel, I emailed them immediatly to ask if they could visit the spa to retrieve it. Anna managed to do just that and even sent it over with a friend who was visiting the UK to post it back to me. The necklace was very senimental and expensive (tiffany) so I was delighted to get it back. The hotel would not even let me pay them for the time and expense they had gone to retun it to me-HUGE THANK YOU to all the staff
Other good points of the hotel are its location-very central to explore Hanoi. The hotel is very clean. I would also recommend booking a taxi with the hotel as it is cheaper that the metered taxi's-we were a bit dubious at first as it is common knowledge that hotels add their fee to taxi's but in comparison to the taxi we got from the airport it was definetly cheaper on the way back. This hotel really does try and help it's visitors in every way. Thankyou again Anna.xx

It's such a great time when we stayed in this hotel. The accommodation is absolutely awesome with friendly staff members. Also they were very helpful in organising a tour to Ha Long bay for us.
We highly appreciate for all their service and support. Surely we will come back in near future.

We called the hotel the same day we were supposed to land in Hanoi and booked a room.

When we arrived and checked in we found the room to be very clean and modern and the shower looked brand new.

The best thing about this hotel was a staff member named Anna. What she did for us was so much more than we ever expected.
Before we arrived we talked to her over the phone to book a two days trip to Haloing bay. When we arrived to the hotel at 9 PM she stayed late to personslly great us.

After reading that the 3 days tour was better she helped us to change the crousing company at the last second and avoid the cancelation fee (the first one did not offer the trek on Catba island).

She was very knolagable and helpfull. We felt like she really cared for us.

She also helped us to get train tickets to Saps and a driver to wait for us and take us to the airport when we come back.
Then when we came back she woke up at 5 am to make sure the driver came and that everything is ok.

This woman is a legoned!
