Our family have really enjoyed our stay at this hotel in the Old Quarter of Hanoi. It is
very centrally located and the quality of the rooms and excellence of the service has been
faultless. We received much help to arrange further travel throughout Northern Vietnam including Halong Bay and Sapa. These tours have been highlights of our trip, and the arrangements for these trips were professionally organised and ran very
smoothly. The spacious accommodation in the hotel far exceeded our expectations, and they will soon be upgrading the hotel, which will include a complimentry foot
massage. That is, the nightclub downstairs is being replaced by a day spa. With a two night stay, complimentry airport transfer will also be offered. This would be a great bonus as it takes around 45minutes by bus to get from the airport to the city centre. They are also refurbishing rooms, creating smoking rooms, improving the buffet breakky and generally adapting to what people want. We love the internet in our room. The new management are changing the name of the hotel in January, and are also looking to change the reputation. Friendly, young and enthusiastic new staff have been hired, and the manager, Tuan is so keen to cater to our every need and make our stay as enjoyable as possible. He is a very genuine man whom we have made great friends with.

We arrived at this hotel on the 26th Nov 2009, there were 15 of us in the group. Some of us were given 3 rooms on the 1st floor, room 204, 205 & 206 and the rest were on the 3rd floor.
Upon checking in, one of the rooms have electrical faults like bathroom lights and extractor fan not functioning and the other with no hot running water. The rooms floor were dusty, one window latch was broken (window view is a brick wall!) & I had to request for a change of pillow cases as there were fallen hair stuck onto them.
Most rooms have terrible cigarette smell & it was really bad that after staying there for an evening, our pajamas stunk...!
Worst of all, like some reviewers of this hotel have mentioned, you will be kept awake from your sleep because of a disco located on the ground floor.
We then request for room on the upper floors for the 2nd night of our stay and the staff agreed & promised that we will get rooms on the 4th & 5th floor.
On that particular evening, the staff told us that 2 rooms were not ready & gave us lots of excuses that the hotel is heavilly booked and we have to wait for another half an hour for the staff to prepare the rooms. Having got no choice so we took 2 rooms on the 1st floor and stayed awake till 1 am in the morning till the disco closes. : (
This is one of the worst hotel I have ever stayed in....!
Never check into this hotel or your holiday will be ruined....!
