“Very good, friendly hotel”
Reviewed April 26, 2011

During our travelling in Vietnam we stayed 4 times in the nice Sunrise Hotel. Each timewe came back to Hanoi, after an excursion of some days, we were welcomed in the Sunrise Hotel by mrs....(the owner) the manager and the staff with warm enthusiasm as if we were family. With exception of nr. 702 we liked all the rooms. They are clean, spacious, very well equipped, good beds and rather quiet for Hanoi, The location is ideal, very near to the Hoan Kiem Lake, musea etc. The staff and mrs... were very helpful and friendly, gave good advice, made reservations for tickets (Waterpuppets, quickly sold out otherwise) . Free internet always available. Breakfast good but a bit simple. IF we would visit Hanoi again we would go again to the good Sunrise Hotel.

As said before, the young entrepreneurs of the boutique hotel movement in Hanoi

are simply wonderfully charming in their wish to make your stay comfortable in every way.

In the main, they are very young, charming in their ambition, as are Tommy and Johnny,

the two young brothers here, and acutely attuned to their guests.

This is typical tiny Hanoi Boutique, and it is definitely more fun with traveling companions.

True, the rooms are large. I can't speak for all, but my room's almost JPMorgan dark wood

and walls would be a true giggle space for three, and they'd fit comfortable.

Every thing in this marvelously odd little hotel has its charm as well as its ... well...need for

a little patience. Again, as with many of these tiny hotels, the staff is family from the city,

so there's usually something slightly askew, such as one table of large jovial travelers

gobbling up too little fruit set out, or the small, tight dining area, doors occasionally locking

from inside... and out. But as long as you laugh, this hotel really is a giggle, and as said,

the staff truly tries.

There are two things that can be said for this hotel - cheap and clean. That's it. This hotel is a real gem, located close to the Center, only 5 minutes walk from the hotel and a slightly longer walk to the Hoan Kiem Lake. The room was nice, a good size and traditionally decorated, bath with shower in a small bathroom (but it is only a bathroom) and a really great bed, firm and comfortable, I slept like a log. I like it very much.

I stayed in this hotel last week and I think this is the best hotel I ever stayed. Firstly, the rooms are very clean and the bed was comfortable with me. Second, It has quite cheap prize with another hotel in Ha Noi. In the morning, we can choice our break fast. They don't have buffet breafast but you can choice you breakfast on the menu. They have many many dishes for you to choice like Pho( a traditional dish) or bread with fried eggs...... The reception was very friendly with me, they gived me many good advice and you can call them to help you 24/24( Their English are very good too). I think this is fantasic hotel: good break fast, nice rooms, friendly reception and cheap prize. If I come back VietNam again I will still stay there. What a fantastic hotel!!!!!

I and my wife stay in this hotel last month , we saw picture about the room hotel is wonderful and expected to stay with our vacation, but it is horrible and terrible hotel.
The Rooms are very ordinary - reeked of cigarette smoke and shabby, unclean : To explain the uncleanliness, well... it would take all day... but for example, they do not clean the bathroom floors or vacuum the rooms. We had sticky stuff all over our bathroom floor, along with sewer smells . when we sleep we found a lot of hairs still on bed, it made us cant sleep well and scare .
Next morning , we came down and had breakfast , when we book hotel with buffee breakfast but they served some bread, with butter and jam , and egg . we asked some drink they said they had coffe and tea only . That is buffee breakfast. I cant believe. I will never come back this hotel one more time.
Central position good, but there are so many other excellent hotels equally central.
I would never ever recommend this hotel unless it was $10 or less.
