A lovely place that oozes with the family's hospitality and charm. There must be something to say for being given a room on the 6th floor in a hotel with no lift and feeling none the worse for it. It's the warmth that floats around! Lovely rooms, great loos and people who really take care of you. They went further - when my booking done through them on the Santa Maria cruise fell through as the cruise operator tried to bump me off the last minute, the hotel fought tooth and nail to ensure I got my booking back on the Santa Maria. As the owner told me, he had his reputation to protect and was not going to stake it for anything - this demonstrates the time and trouble they take to look after their guests.

Comper with enother hotels, it was worst (but no cheapest). Breakfast was terrible, room is small, not clean and service is absence. If you don't like ado - stay in french area. If you like it - try to find more comfortable hotel.

When you like to explore North Vietnam you may decide to use Hanoi as a hub. You may also like to ensure waiting time or dead time is reduced as much as much as possible. The rising dragon hotel offers an excellent service accordingly: using the net, we planned our week in advance with Ginger Vu, the hotel manager and didn't need to worry much longer. He organised all the transfers. We stayed 7 nights in Vietnam of which the first and last night in the Rising Dragon, well located in the old town. (Rooms in the back are quiet.) The other 5 nights we were out of town exploring and enjoying the countryside. Net, the rising dragon is not just a hotel. It is a full service concept targetting to satisfy the traveller who likes to discover North Vietnam. During our holiday all our expectations were met. Thank you.

I went with a group of friends for a reunion holiday and found Rising Dragon through TripAdviser. We booked directly with the hotel. The communication was great and the hotel organised transfers for us as well. The rooms are clean and fairly modern but the best part of the hotel was the great service and yummy breakfast. The staff were great and did assist us over and above what we had expected. Location was very central which was another very important factor for us.

Minus points are no elevator which was fine for us but if you don't do stairs, you'd struggle!
