Great hotel and helpful staff .. could not do enough to make you feel at home. Good location, walking distance to the night market and not to far from the center of all things, but you still will need a taxi to get around. Breakfast was American and good.

Booked in at this hotel at the start of our month long Trailfinder trip and it was fine for a few nights. After a long flight from Heathrow via Singapore we were glad to arrive and get our heads down but it's pretty noisy in Hanoi so don't forget the earplugs, especially as the hotel comes to life at about 6am and the lack of carpets anywhere makes for a raucous start. Apparently our room was a "deluxe" but was fairly basic, but we did at least have a window! The bathroom was spacious but hot water is limited and whenever we used the shower it flooded the floor. The hotel is tall and thin, winding around the lift shaft, with the restaurant on the top which provides a good view across hazy Hanoi and a moderate breakfast. Being veggies the choice is, as often, somewhat limited but you can have a croissant and cheese and they'll cook you an egg any way you like. We ate supper there on our first night and it filled the gap but again had a limited offering for non meat eaters. The one major downside wasthe music....one looped CD of Christmas carols and covers of the theme tunes from Titanic and Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves, played on a soprano sax; amusing at first becoming a kind of torture after a few breakfasts! Staff were friendly and helpful and it's in a great location for exploring the Old Quarter etc. For a short stay with no frills it's fine but after a while the faded mediocrity could become depressing.

We were booked in here on our tour. The room was OK but the bathroom really poor. That said the breakfast was brilliant. Although the hotel was situated centrally we felt we would rather have stayed further down in the French quarter as we had so many streets to cross and negotiate to go anywhere.

Described by our guide as a boutique hotel. We found it clean and tidy and the rooms are a good size as is the bathroom. Though it is situated on a main road it is double glazed and we did not hear the traffic. Great breakfast. Staff polite and very helpful.

Stayed here 3 nights before joining a package Tour. Initially given a room without a window. Front Desk clerk reluctantly changed our room, perhaps because we booked a next day Tour through him. We overpaid for the Tour but it was early evening and Travel Agents closed.
Enjoyed breakfast, wide choice with eggs cooked to order and good coffee. Nice view over local roof tops.
Would consider returning if a good price but would prefer to stay closer to the Tourist attractions..
Subsequently enjoyed a guided tour of Vietnam. Recommend our Hanoi based guide Nguyen Anh Tuan

We stayed at this hotel as we were only in Hanoi for a short time. The location is good - an easy walk to the Old Quarter and the French Quarter, but opt for a room at the back rather than the front if you want to avoid traffic noise, loudspeakers relaying the news in the morning, etc. The rooms are pretty basic but reasonably sized and clean, and the bathrooms are the same. We were impressed with the breakfast - good, fresh pastries and bread, and decent coffee. Would recommend, but it's nothing outstanding.

Room Tip: Opt for a room at the back for a quieter night

Over a period of 4 days we stayed in this Hotel Twice. First time was a booking prior to packaged tour with Travel Indochina, we had a front room that was large, clean and well equipped. We returned to the Hotel after an overnight trip. Our new room was much smaller with less of a view, but clean and well appointed. We found the breakfast buffet to be well stocked with both western and local selections. The down stairs bar area was a bit small.
