This was our first hotel stay during a tour of Vietnam North to South and the lowest star rating within the itinerary, but frankly it is my favourite and probably the best. Reception was friendly and, arriving early in the morning, the staff went out of their way to make available an early check in to our room which had not been pre booked- providing us with coffee whilst we waited. We stayed in a front facing room on the 6th floor which had a great view of the vibrant city - tai chi in the park- and yet with surprisingly very little noise. The room was very large with spacious seating area and superb bathroom. I attach some photos. We found the pressure and temperature gauge of showers within Vietnam to be dreadful but this Hotel provided one of the best bathroom facilities. Breakfast too was very pleasant - nice environment with more than sufficient choice and freshly prepared food. It was a good location to walk through the main route into the old quarter, whilst negotiating the traffic which you soon get used to!
Thank you for a great start to our holiday.

If you are looking for a small intermate hotel rtight in the heart of Hanoi then this is the place. Good size rooms with all facilities including tea and coffee in room. The staff are the most helpful and with an afternoon to spare there may be a freelance guide available. Breackfasts are a joy good choice and plenty of it. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Anise hotel was a good choice of hotel slightly away from the main town but easy to reach all the sights. The staff were friendly and helpful. The meals in the restaurant were good and there was a good choice of both vietnemese and western style.

Room Tip: Choose opposite the park and then at 6.30 watch the Tai Chi

We stayed in the Anise hotel in mid February for a couple of nights. We had no choice on this as it was pre-booked as part for our Vietnam Insight tour with Travel Indochina.

The room was acceptable. Very basic I would say but it was large enough for two suitcase to be open on the floor and clean and the bathroom modern and clean with the usual towels and amenities. The beds were extremely hard yet clean bedding . We were on the 9th floor and had no remarkable view to the back of the hotel with the net curtain strangely in between the double glazing. I would second the reports that the higher and back facing rooms are quieter as we had no problem with noise. The breakfast was good. There is only one lift and occasionally there was considerable waiting time for it, so ensure you have everything with you when you go out as there is no "quick popping back to the room" Check in and check out was quick and painless and the couple of staff we interacted with were friendly, courteous and professional.

Overall, for the purpose of our visit (sleeping only as we spent the days out on pre-organised sightseeing) this hotel and room was perfectly acceptable. Although we would not have chosen this hotel personally as we usually go for something a little plusher. But we also noted some of the other photo's posted on here and our room did not look like quite so nice.

We did not attempt to use the WiFi but saw many with their ipads so presume it worked fine and we cannot comment on the location either as we did not walk off sightseing.

Anise Hotel was our stay for three nights at the beginning of our trip to Vietnam. We arrived early in the morning not expecting our room to be ready, but only after one hour wait the helpful reception had us in our room. Our room on the third floor was nice clean with all the Amenities you need. On our first day we had a few problems with the room safe and faulty air conditioning. To be fair to the hotel they were quick in attempting to resolve the situation. This took longer than expected and after complaining to management they moved us to a lovely upgrade room on the eighth floor and for the inconvenience treated us to a free dinner. Top marks for keeping the customer happy! The hotel has a very nice bar on the lower floor which also serves excellent snacks. OK we all know about the crazy traffic in Hanoi but we loved the position of the hotel which is ideal for exploring the Old Quarter. Loved the free breakfasts in the 11th floor restaurant. Staff in the hotel could not have been nicer and made our three night stay perfect! My only one moan would be, at the beginning of our stay, I asked to speak to the Manager, but he/she made no attempt to contact me. Other than that we would highly recommend the Anice Hotel for value for money in Ha oi

Room Tip: Rooms had good sound proofing but try and get a room on the upper floors.

Three families (16 people) traveled in Hanoi and we finished up our trip at the Anise hotel. We love this place. We stayed one night at the Anise after arriving in Hanoi from HCMC before taking a couple of excursion tours and then came back to finish our stay at the Anise. The staff was quite accommodating in storing our bags while we went on our excursions (even letting us come and get into the bags to repack for the next excursion). Also, we left Hanoi on a late flight, so they also stored our luggage for us after we checked out and let us hang out in the lobby while waiting for our bus. We apologize to all other guests that we may have disturbed while we were there with our children!

The location is near the old quarter and near many things to do. The rooms are nicely decorated, comfortable and modern. The one downside was that the wifi was not very dependable for most of us. This was one of our group's favorite hotels for breakfast in Vietnam. Wonderful fruit, nice fresh cooked eggs, and those chocolate-filled croissants were divine. The next time we come to Hanoi we'll be sure to stay at the Anise. Thank you for your hospitality!

stayed for 4 nights in Hanoi before travelling back to UK. Room on third floor at front of hotel, quite cramped but clean. Bed very hard. No wifi signal in room but ok in restaurant and reception area. Noise from traffic but surprisingly slept well. Bath has step up and no separate shower - small screen, good water pressure which unfortunately meant water went everywhere when had shower. Also had slight problem as previous reviewer with limited hot water - could not have deep bath as water became cool. buffet breakfast satisfactory though croissants appeared a bit stale on a couple of occasions. Service was adequate but did not go above or beyond that. Good location for old quarter and market.
