I stayed in a enormous apartment, well furnished and with a good view. It was vey clean, with a good bed and bathroom. The negative remarks is that I stayed there for 4 nights and they didn't bring soap to substitute that one I found when arrived. The staff is extremely kind at the front desk and also at the restaurant. The restaurant serves a reasonable food, and is safe for a western guest . Wireless internet has good quality.

We stayed on the hotel one night after coming back from Ha Long Bay before heading to other parts of Vietnam.

This hotel is very nice. We had booked "Executive Room" with double bed. What we got was 2-bedroom condo in 23th floor with kitchen, washing machine and all the works - most likely most of the "rooms" are rented for longer times for expats.

Hotel restaurant (Jaspa's) had both western and Vietnamese cuisine - we had very delicious pizzas.

Room Tip: Try to get a room from as high as possible. Amazing views.

We stayed here for 5 days (1 + 4), had a break for Han Long crusie, the hotel helped out with arranging the cruise, stored our luggage while we were away. The hotel is walking distance from old town and many other places, the reception is excellent in service. The residence has everything that one would expect from a nice hotel. The gym was appreciated, the pool was enjoyed by the kids, a big advantage is the full equipped kitchen with washing machine (something that I would enjoy even if I traveled in business). Additional advantages is the well equipped supermarket in the entry level that makes life so much easier as Hanoi isn't really overcrowded with convenient stores. The apartments are really big an nice, wouldn't mind stay here for a couple of months even with family, feels like home. Definatly highly recommendable...don't look at the Hiltons or Sheratons or Sofitels, we checked them and took this instead. Enjoy it we definatly do and will do again whenever we come back to Hanoi..

An ok hotel, we requested non smoking and got clearly a smoking room. Room was small, beds were too hard and lounge area was not good. Buffet breakfast was ok, I have had better.

we stayed elsewhere in Hanoi initially ( The Hanoi Elegance Sapphire ) and while pleasant it isnt a patch on the Somerset. We looked at several other properties including the Sofitel, Movenpik and the Hilton but for sheer location and space the Somerset had the edge. Our rate in June 2011 for a one bedroom apartment was US $95 / night a fraction of the others without compromise on room quality and finish. We cherish space when we travel so separate bedroom , lounge, kitchen and bathroom in an 80sqm apartment is perfect. Its not a hotel, but all amenities are close by including a pool, and a shopping mall with supermarket at the base of the tower. It offers free , high speed wifi throughout the building including the bar. Its a very short walk into the old quarter and close to major attractions. Taxis are reliable and cheap, even if the traffic leaves you perplexed and occasionally anxious. Would recommend this place to travellers who want comfortable accomodation without compromise on quality. First class.
