Hi Luke, we appreciate your feedback about our Hostel. Hope everything worked out in the end for you. Stay safe & thanks again.
Our private room smelled really badly and there was a mountain of empty beer cases just outside our door, as well as a pile of cleaning supplies and toilet paper. Not exactly welcoming. The bed was really hard but that's not unusual in Asian hostels. The turquoise wall colour was bright and happy and the bathroom had a giant tub, which was an unusual treat. None of these things made up for the smell or the beer bottles outside the door though. Moreover, the staff were pissy when we told them that we had already booked a tour before arrival, as they clearly wanted us to book with them. I did the free walking tour of the Old Quarter, however, and the guide was really informative. Breakfast was also tasty. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this hostel, as there are many choices that are just as affordable in the area.
Hi Melissa, we appreciate your feedback about the Hostel & we will take all of it on board. Sorry your stay wasn't as you hoped. I do remember you Ladies & I hope the rest of your travelling experiences go as planned. Thanks again. Ally
Amazing! Easily one of the best Backpackers in SE Asia! Great facilities, beds comfy and everything is safe and secure! Couldn't ask for more! Above all the staff are just the best! Go above and beyond! To help you out and make you feel at home! There all like family now! Made it hard to leave! Hostel is not to be missed when visiting Hanoi!
Thanks for your awesome review of the hostel, we do miss having you guys around & we are all happy you guys enjoyed your time with us. Stay in touch. Ally
Although we didn't book a room we did book two tours, one overnight to Halong Bay plus booz cruise and the other up to Sapa (Sapa was $20 for bus up and a night in the backpackers there, pretty nice place I must say, not so much a backpapckers but hotel plus a free beer and we even got free breakfast).
Halong Bay didn't turn up the weather for us but the accom was nice on the private beach and of course the cruise and night. Great if you love to party and drink.....and drink....and get naked. ;)
Thanks for taking the time to write a review. We are glad you had a great time with us. Take care & continue to have fun on your travels. Thanks again.
Underwhelmed pretty much sums it up.
We didn't have hot water for the entire duration of our three night stay - and after the first night the wifi wasn't working either.
Both these issues were in their second building over the road - wifi was fine in the main one- not sure on water. Saw very little attempt to sort either out however.
Room itself fine, if on the small side. TV in room, good air con, reasonable bed.
Could be noisy in the morning very early.
Very expensive compared to other hotels/hostels on the same street - for poor service.
Rooftop bar closes early, social activities all aimed at 18/19 year olds and revolved around drinking huge amounts. Tours expensive compared to others. Can see the appeal to gap yearers though!
Staff generally helpful, though levels of English varied - some extremely difficult to communicate with. Went on the walking tour and was the case with the staff member taking this - most of the group struggled to understand much of it.
Can store luggage if you go to Sa Pa / Halong for a few days which is a plus point. And they were happy for us to use the showers when we returned.
Unimpressed with the travel desk - booked the bus to Sa Pa with them. First the bus to Sa Pa took 7.5 hours, not 5 as the girl at the travel desk told us. Second getting hold of my train ticket back was a complete nightmare. Wouldn't use them again.
Thanks for your review. Sorry to hear about your bus experience to Sapa, sometimes things are out of our control. We hope the rest of your journey was a success. Thanks
Stayed 2 nights here. It's lots of fun! Bed was comfy, brekkie is amazing, the noise wasn't bad for a 'party' hostel, and the pub crawl that was organised by the hostel was great too! The room was a really good price for the location. Hanoi is the place to base yourself if you want to venture out to Ha Long Bay or Sapa. The staff weren't super helpful on things to do in the city of Hanoi, so we just stayed mostly around the backpackers district as it was Monsoon season and raining lots during the day.
We appreciate you taking the time to write a review for us. We are happy you enjoyed your stay. Thanks.
