“This hotel engages in fair business.”
Reviewed March 25, 2011

We booked through hostels.com. Stayed in 2 different rooms (before and after Halong Bay trip) which were both of good standard.

Pros: Clean, comfortable, more than adequate amenities (fridge, cable TV, fan and AC, towels, soap), decent room size. Fruit/snack plate everyday in our room, free coffee and tea in the dining area all day. Free use of pc for internet in the reception. Warm welcome and stay throughout. Friendly and helpful staff but not pushy, deals in fair business.

Cons: Small breakfast area with 4 tables, usually busy at 730-8am when people wait for their tours (though we noticed they start serving earlier). No lift so be prepared to walk up to your room. One of the rooms had a leaking bathtub but not a big deal for us.

Dealmaker: Complimentary airport pick up for at least 2 nights stay.

Based on our 2 separate stays, we would stay there again and would recommend other travelers to support t his hotel because it seems they engage in fair business.

The hostel had a really good location and a lot of the sights were just walking distance from here. The rooms were nice, clean and very reasonable. The free breakfast every morning for guests was another plus point about this place.
On the whole the place offers a good deal at a very low price.

Good sizes clean rooms with comfortable armchairs (that is almost revolutionary in hotels!). Staff were very helpful without being pushy, booked trip to Ha Long Bay for us on a very comfortable smallish boat at a good budget price. Free pickup from airport and looked after most of our baggage whilst we were away, also booked overnight train to Hue. Free tea and coffee all day, fresh fruit and biscuits in room.

We stayed here for 2 nights. The staff was very welcoming and helful. After our trip in Halong Bay they let us use the shower and the internet for free, even if we did not have a room. They also fixst train tickets and taxi to Sapa for us. When we came back from Sapa, very early in the morning, they were fully booked. but let us in so we could relax. Later they booked a room for us in a sisther hotel so we could get some sleep. If i come back to Hanoi i would deffinetly stay here:) thank you so mutsh:)

We stayed at the Little Hanoi Hotel for 3 nights at the end of January. Because we stayed more than 2 nights they picked us up from the airport for free which was very convenient. The staff at the Little Hanoi Hotel are exceptionally friendly and helpful. They provided us with a map and pointed out the best bars and restaurants to eat at. They joked around and made us feel at home immediately. The location of the hotel is right in the middle of Old Quarter. While the location is good, we found the area to be very overwhelming with all of the motor bikes, and very noisy.

The room was fine. The bed was actually more comfortable than most of the beds we have slept in while traveling around Asia. Every day they bring fresh fruit to your room which is a nice gesture. Our room also had a bathroom with a bathtub and shower. The water pressure was a little weak, but if we waited long enough our shower was reasonably warm. It was a little noisy at times, so bring ear plugs for sleeping.

They do offer a free breakfast, but we only ate at the hotel once. The breakfast comes with coffee or tea. It is nothing special, but if you are a budget traveler, it helps cut down costs to eat there.

The hotel also arranged transportation back to the airport for us, and I think the price was good. Definitely easier than trying to find a taxi and making sure you pay a fair rate.

Overall, we had a good experience at the Little Hanoi Hotel and recommend it to other travelers who are used to traveling in Asia and are on a budget.

I felt very comfortable here. The room was very clean and the bedding was very comfortable. The location is far enough away from the main tourist center so it wasn't too busy all of the time (but still very close to the center).

The people who run the place are very helpful when booking tours or transportation away from hanoi. They made sure that I was fine with the tour they were offering (they have many options) and also asked us what we thought of the tour when I got back for future reference. When I asked them where I can eat or where I can purchase certain goods, they pointed me in the right direction. They even packed me some bread for my late night flight.

I am glad that I stayed here - will definitely come back when visiting hanoi.

After reading great reviews we were looking forward to our stay at Little Hanoi.
We had a very warm welcome from the lady at the front desk. Our room was clean and comfortable. Hot water showers and A/C. Very friendly staff. Only downside is, is that it is very popular so can be hard to get a room! Blue Sky Hotel down the road is just if you're unlucky here.
They also do bookings for all sorts of tours. Just one word of warning -- Carefully think about booking a $65 Halong Bay tour with these guys as the junk boat we were on run by Fantasea Adventures was crawling with cockroaches!
Overall, though, a great stay. Would not hesitate to recommend.
