The Hanoi Club Hotel & Lake Palais Residences
Ranked #200 of 600 Hotels in Hanoi

This hotel has everything I need when I am working in Hanoi and I regard it as my home when there. The setting by the West Lake is spectacular and the bedrooms extremely comfortable. It is worth paying a little extra for the lake view. I particularly enjoyed using the driving range, hooking and slicing golf balls into the lake and occasionally getting a straight drive followed by a dip in the hotel pool. I thoroughly recommend the hotel and of course unlike the Movenpick the wifi is free and works well.

Room Tip: Choose a Lake view room

This hotel was quiet and the rooms were very nice with great bathrooms and excellent air conditioning (it was very hot outside). We enjoyed breakfast, particularly the pho and the congee (both very good). The location was not the best for tourists as it is some distance (half hour walk) from the old quarter but the fitness centre, jacuzzi (looked great), swimming pool, golf range, tennis courts mean that if you have children or like to be very active, this hotel's many extras would be very appealing. Walking through less touristed areas on the way to Hoan Kiem lake was interesting (though would have preferred not to do this every day).
We did not pay for a lake view room so our room view was urban; if I returned, I'd definitely book a lake view.
One quirk of the room was the big picture window divide between the shower/bath and the bed. It does mean lots of natural light in the bathroom and has a blind so you can be more private if you wish.

Room Tip: Definitely a lake view room.

The tagline of the hotel said "Jewel of the Lake". That sums all pretty what I can say of the hotel.
After the mayhem of dense traffic and crowd from staying hotel in the middle of Hoan Kiem Lake and Old Quarter...the surrounding of Club Hanoi is like an oasis of calm...the surrounding houses at Yen Phu village are cleaner, newer,...and the scootering community horns somewhat less.
But don't expect less horning on the main streets at Yen Phu...it's in the psyche.

The room are generous sized, clean, chic...and the Superior Rooms face the lake. Bed are comfy, aircon are powerful & quiet, water pressure not an issue....all ingredients for a great stay..

The facilties are reasonable...gym, sauna, driving range that faces the lake (you hit the balls which float on the lake), mid sized pool, spa, ....are suffcient but by no mean exhaustive. The hotel grounds are not that huge that you will get lost.

Breakfast spread is good enough and should not disappoint unless you are used to international class hotels standard. And might I add that the porridge and pho are great !

There are a good restaurant (seafood and meat lovers will like it) at Banh Tom Ho Tay (just 10min walk away) by the lake and an adjoining famous local ice cream shop called Kem Ho Tay selling coconut based coolers at 5000VND a cone/stick. See where the crowd is...and you found it.

Taxi to airport are about USD19 for a 7 seater to the airport while its about 70,000-80,000VND for a 10min taxi to the Old Quarter for shopping...

For a peaceful, pleasant stay....I truly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for the 7th floor room - 737 would be perfect. Deluxe room faces city view.

This hotel is also the Lake Palais Residences so you get people who live here so know each other quite well it is very social and you get to see the children coming home from school and the men home from work. In the evening it comes alive with a packed gym, loads of children swimming in the pool and the men shooting golf into the lake (all done out in the best golf gear) it was all very entertaining. We spent one day and night here and had a free late check out we just needed a day to chill out around the pool away from the old quarter. The breakfast was excellent and also the reception staff. You cannot just walk outside to many restaurants and we felt so chilled out we decided to eat there, big mistake the food is awful, I dont understand why as the breakfast was good. But overall the hotel was excellent.

we stayed here for some night, but the service really let you down.
The service staff is not tentative at all as they could sell much more drinks but it seems that you are in a self-service bar.

The food they served are good but they just silently remove it without any last call ! Suddenly there is nothing more too eat. The service staff must have been changed regularly hence the bad service. I have the feeling that they all are fresh from the country side.

Stayed here for 5 nights. Appreciated being away from the busyness of the Old Quarter, but close enough to get their quickly if needed. The fitness facilities are excellent - lots of weight machines, free weights, and cardio equipment. The pool was also good for lap swimming. If you need a coffee fix, there is a "Coffee Bean and Tea" a few blocks away. Staff were friendly and helpful.

This is a good upmarket establishment but away from the Old Quarter. Easy walk to all the sights but out of the way enough to provide a rest from the business of Hanoi Old Quarter. It is right on West Lake in the Tay Ho district. Enjoyed our stay with Victor Chin (General Manager). Friendly place ...
