“A pleasant stay along the lake”
Reviewed April 25, 2012

Stayed here for 5 nights. Appreciated being away from the busyness of the Old Quarter, but close enough to get their quickly if needed. The fitness facilities are excellent - lots of weight machines, free weights, and cardio equipment. The pool was also good for lap swimming. If you need a coffee fix, there is a "Coffee Bean and Tea" a few blocks away. Staff were friendly and helpful.

This is a good upmarket establishment but away from the Old Quarter. Easy walk to all the sights but out of the way enough to provide a rest from the business of Hanoi Old Quarter. It is right on West Lake in the Tay Ho district. Enjoyed our stay with Victor Chin (General Manager). Friendly place ...

I had an extended stay at The Hanoi Club while on a business trip. The facilities are very nice and offer quite a lot for the price. The rooms are well equipped, comfortable, and quiet. The attractions for me were the location and amenities. Located on west lake with an outdoor sitting area, The Hanoi Club offers a chance to really escape the hustle and noise Hanoi. You can spend an evening relaxing on the terrace while having dinner or drinks. There are also good fitness facilities including a workout room, aerobics, squash, tennis and a swimming pool. In my experience, the fitness center is the area most often misrepresented in Hanoi hotel advertising. The Hanoi Club's fitness center is great. It can be a bit crowded and not all the personal TVs work great, but you will have to pay quite a bit more to do better. The onsite restaurant is good - a bit pricey and not superb, but it offers a wide selection of good meals. The one draw back is with staff management. To be clear, the staff is very friendly, capable and hard working. However, they are not managed well. There can be long waits to place an order, especially when waiting outside; dishes can be cleared too quickly; long waits to get the bill (especially in the lounge); they do not always approach you when you sit down; etc. The management should be improved to make more efficient use of the staff and raise their skill level in serving the customers/guests. Such problems affect the front desk as well. Procedures should be reviewed and revised so that the front desk can be more responsive to e-mail enquiries and settling bills. Other than that, this is an excellent hotel and I would easily stay here again.

Hotel was very good, the room was clean, spacious, and had ample light during the day. The food was good and pool side drinks were really nice. The view of the lake in morning and evening was stunningly beautiful. The meeting hall was nice and had all the required electronic gadgets to make it worthwhile. The only drawback was its distance from the tourist spot of Old Quarters, otherwise a worth living space.

Room Tip: Try to get the room with lake view, highly recommended

We stayed at the Hanoi Club for 7 days, while we were looking for an apartment to move into. I picked this hotel primarily for its location and the fact it had a swimming pool for our 4 year old son.

I really liked the location in Tayho, however if I was coming to Hanoi for the first time I would rather stay in the Old Quarter area then in TayHo. However, if you really want to relax, swim and get away from the hustle and noise, then this hotel maybe for you.

My son loved staying at this hotel, it ticked all the boxes for him, I thought the room was great, the views of the lake were wonderful, and I thought the food was good also. The seafood buffet was wonderful on the weekend and certainly worth trying out. I thought the breakfsast buffet was really decent aldso
So what was missing, Well after staying at different places in Vietnam, from Hanoi to HCM city we were really were expecting the genuine warm welcome that we had received in the other hotels we had visited. Ths staff here were polite and smiled and friendly, but there was no individualised care, no genuine friendliness by most staff members, just people doing there job. Customer service not at it's best.
The AGM Mr Koh, was the exceptional to the rule, he made an effort to connect with you, was extremely friendly and was always with a welcoming presence around the hotel. I value friendliness and the little extra things that hotels do to make you feel genuinely welcome. like genuine smiles and remembering your name, I will come back to a hotel time and time again, if they deliver great customer service. Unfortunately many of the staff we encountered. were lacking it here. This hotel looks a little tired on the outside , but does have good facilities, and has to the potential to be so much more with some extra work on personal relations.

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. It is not near the old quarter, but for 3 dollar/15 minutes you can be there. The hotel is a relaxed escape after a busy day exploring the hectic Hanoi. The swimmingpool is very nice. The rooms look good and clean. The breakfast is also good. They happen to have very good cakes as well, which are being sold with discount after 7 pm.

However, If you want to go out drinking every evening at the Old quarter and don't want to take a taxi back to the hotel you could better look for a hotel in that area.

We like the hotel and surely recommed it as a place to stay.

was in transit in Hanoi for one night, stayed at this hotel in the signature suite, was lovely, breakfast was a bit bland, golf driving range was good, other facilities including tennis courts and squash courts, kids club is for younger ones, playground for younger ones, staff were helpful, approx $3 to old quarter, no complaints considering we stayed for one night...

Room Tip: try and get a view of the lake
