We were in Hanoi last week and needed one night after our trip to Ha Long Bay - we walked past and saw the special promotion on the door which lured us in - a lovely clean lobby (located right in the heart of the Old Quarter) super friendly English speaking staff - we looked at a superb room overlooking the street front and booked it straight away. Everything is clean, brand new, stylish, great bathroom all brand new. Frank on reception gave us a tip for an amazing authentic 'in the know only' restaurant to go to that night and then booked us a taxi to the airport for $10 the next morning. The breakfast was equally terrific, the lovely fresh crusty bread, eggs cooked to order, fresh fruit, freshly squeezed juices, daily papers, the place is totally faultless. You cant go wrong.
