We have stayed in Lucky for 3 days. It is lovely place. The room is old with dark furnitures. However, we love Lucky's staffs so much. Everyone is friendly and knowledgeable. They showed us the good place to see and eat. Lucky hotel is near HoangKien lake,we walked every morning. In Summary, WE LOVE LUCKY!

Room Tip: We stayed in 404 room with big balcony. I like it so much

The hotel is on a great location and is clean and serviceable. But there were many glitches. Overall, there are muchbetter options in the same area at a comparable price.

Hotel was dingy but clean. Room size was good. Staff was attentive but not pleasant. Great central location in Old Quarter

There were a number of glitches. AC didn't work at first. There were only two sheets of toilet paper on the roll and no back up. The shower sprayed everywhere.

Bottom line, not a terrible hotel but not pleasant. Other hotels nearby offer much better value.

This hotel is situated in the narrow streets and old quarter of Hanoi and is well good value. Lots of restaurants and action right outside the hotel door. It's a little basic but its clean and the service was excellent. Don't expect perfect English at the desk or in the breakfast room but you can expect lots of smiles and helpful nods and prompt attention. My room was a superior room ($60) on the 4th floor and had a large balcony/terrace overlooking the street. I suspect that standard rooms ($40) are similar in size but do not have the balcony. The wifi was part of the deal and the connection worked well in my room.

The location can't be beat. In the Old Quarter and only a couple blocks from Hoan Kiem Lake. Easy to walk the old quarter from this hotel.

The rooms vary, but our bed was one of the most comfortable beds we have slept in all of SE Asia. We stayed in the suite which was great for our family. Rooms were clean.

Bathrooms were clean with a separate shower.

Wifi worked in the front of the room, but not in the back. Worked great when it did.

Breakfast was plentiful and tasty, but VERY slow. Air con worked great.

The noise is loud if you stay in the front of the hotel. There is a rooster that starts crowing at 4:30a on the dot and continues to crow until 6:30a. I think he must have his own alarm clock. Then at 6:30a the government loud speaker goes off. Avoid front and side rooms.

The only thing wrong with this hotel is the pricing and the noise. It is WAY over priced for the area. Even the laundry prices were ridiculous. We moved to another hotel that was half the price and equally as nice with bigger rooms. We only stayed 2 night because of the noise and the over pricing.

Room Tip: Avoid front and side rooms so you don't hear the 4:30a rooster crowing until 6:30a or the government loud speaker going off at 6:30a EVERY MORNING!!!!

Lucky hotel is a well established hotel in the centre of Hanoi, not far from the Hoan Kiem lake. The hotel is managed by a family and provides a very friendly atmosphere for their guests. Lucky has good breakfast and is handy to to most of the tourst attractions. The rooms have been upgraded and have good big beds with good working facilities, and of course internet connections.

It also suits the business traveller with a reliable airport pick up and drop service - which is important in Hanoi.

Ms Huong runs the hotel and she is very approachable and helpful for guests. I have stayed there for almost ten years and prefer the Lucky to other more recently built hotels in the same area.

Room Tip: ask for the rooms with the big balcony
