We caught the puppet show on our first day.

There are quite a number of performance each day so you can take a pick of which one you want to catch. The theatre is just across from the lake so do pop down to buy the tickets while you are enjoying the lake.

Tickets are VND100K (around USD5) but best seats are in front so if possible do pick a performance where you can get better seats.

The theatre is not that big but can probably accommodate around 100+ and certain performances could be sold out.

We went around noon to see if we could get tickets for the 300pm screening but was told it may be sold out. The "may be" is due to previous agreements with certain travel agents etc and the booking staff said we can come by at 230pm to see if there are no shows and that's what we did and we got our tickets.

Its a very interesting show and kids would love it but adults would enjoy the show as well especially that the puppet show is done in this pool of water - very different from other puppet shows.

I wish they would have provided more colour into the background behind the stories but it makes it more interesting trying to figure out what is going on.

The show itself is only around 45 mins so give it a shot.

I may be a big kid, but I loved this! The theatre is very old.rustic interior and small so booking is recommended. Didn't think much of the "music" , but the puppets are really interesting, funny and colourful. It is not a very long performance but it holds your interest the whole time
It takes a wee while to work out how they are making the puppets move.- Quite a unique skill really.
Suitable for all the family!

Loved the presentation and experience of this show. Singers and band was awesome too. We wish we could understand their language to appreciate their singing.

Reminded me of when I was young!! Packed for most performances and the thing to do in Hanoi! Last an hour and very cleaver, will say no more, but worth doing!

Never seen anything like it. Very enjoyable show. Amazing what the puppets can do. Seats are assigned. Be sure to get ones close to the front. Performance guide tells what specific acts will be put on - you will see about a dozen out of the 400 or so available. If you arrive early, go down a little bit and walk over the bridge to see the Temple (20K entry).
