Walk from the Ho Chi Minh mauselium and its about 15 minutes. You can visit the Pagoda by the lake or take a swan boat ride. They have nice pathway to walk and there are cafes along the road. I will reccommend it if you are there.

“It's a big lake”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 13, 2013

West Lake is a big lake, but that's about all it's got going for it. It's quite smoggy, and there isn't really too much to keep your attention. However, it's not far from Ba Dihn Square, so after checking out Uncle Ho's area you can head to the lake to sit and relax; just don't expect much of a view!

“Great once you cross the road....”

Don't try to cross the road at the wrong spots and you can have a pleasant stroll around the lake, but if you cross at a stressful spot it is hard to enjoy

“I love walking around this lake drinking tea”

I wouldn't drive out of my way to get here, but love staying in the area so it's always worth the walk to the lake. :)

“Serene”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 11, 2013

A lovely place to visit in the heart of a big city. We walked around the lake a few times and enjoyed the different buildings and the bars and restaurants. On an evening people came out selling their crafts which was interesting and the lake took on a whole new meaning as the lights reflected from the water. It's well worth crossing the bridge to view the pagoda. I couldn't understand why no pleasure crafts on the lake but was then told that the Vietnamese do not swim so this could be the reason. This is a popular site for couples taking their wedding pictures and we saw several of these and was interested in the bridal wear. Apparently though in Vietnam they have their pictures taken before the wedding so hopefully the marriage ceremonies do go ahead. .
