“Lovely area”
Reviewed February 13, 2013

Visited this area with Hanoi Kids. This is a upmarket part of Hanoi, which made a pleasant change from all the hustle and bustle. Worth visiting just for a bit of peace and tranquility.

“Very large”
Reviewed January 30, 2013

The lake is interesting to walk around, or just part of the shore line. There are lots of Vietnamese walking around. The lake shore is very narrow with busy roads close by. However it is quite picturesque. It would take many hours to walk around, so just pick the shorelines near the south end to walk along for a while.

“Must see”
Reviewed January 29, 2013

Now, there's another West lake in Hangzhou, China. Knowing that one I have to say the West lake in Hanoi is a bid weak. However, after visiting the West lake here a couple of times I felt it's more tranquil here compare to the commercialized West lake in China. Although the view in China is better but I think the West lake in Hanoi is a better place to sit down to enjoy a cup of coffee / drink or a good book

“Visit to an ancient pagoda”
Reviewed January 24, 2013

A visit to the beautiful West Lake and the Tran Quac Pagoda situated in the West lake should be an interesting experience to any tourist going to Hanoi. Tran Quac Pagoda is supposed to be the national pagoda and is very beautifully painted in red and gold with beautiful wood carvings. West lake is a fantastic place for a leisurely walk. Enough and more cafes and shops around the lake.Less crowd and less traffic. Good place for a peaceful walk and a visit to the Pagoda .

“Expat Heaven”
Reviewed January 17, 2013

If you want to get some epats in your life here is your home. Yes on weekends many Vietnamese come here to exercise and walk but usually its filled with many expats. The water isn't very clean so even though you may see some Vn people swimming I would take a pass on it.
It is nice in its views and has a few decent restaurants nearby.
