Im sure you could learn alot at this museum if there were tour guides available for individuals or couples... but apparently only available for groups! Never had such a disappointing experience at a museum. Again probably would be alot better if you had a solid grounding in vietnamese history, which unfortunately neither of us had. Left the museum none the wiser even though there are english panels against most artefacts there needs to be more than that in order to understand the full history. Very uninterested staff that were extremely unhelpful to add to the disappointment.

Stumbled across this museum on our walk through Hanoi. My husband love this museum, with all the artifacts and historical displays. Quite a large museum complex with lots of different buildings to see. Huge signage isn't the greatest, so we did a bit of backtracking, but not terrible overall. Any of the video displays are not in English, so has to skip out on those. Very cheap price to pay for what you get and even I enjoyed it. $1.50 extra fee if you want to use your camera to take pics throughout the complex.

We found the place quite interesting, covered mostly the war against the French and the USA. Also some info about feudal wars. The old planes, helicopters ect were worth a look. It was only a couple of dollars to enter. Well worth a look while in Hanoi.

Going to this museum was a really nice experience, the museum contains real life artifacts of previous combat tanks, military airplanes and all sorts of vehicles and other machinery. Numerous items within the museum were collected after the Viet-Nam war which gives a unique feel to the items displayed there. Additionally there are photographs displayed of Martyrs who fought the war, which i thought were very deep and meaningful photos.

set in a great building the museum was very cheap and gave a feeling of the hardship the vietnamese must have gone through.the large tanks, cannons and rockets were very impressive. Well worth a visit.
