The grounds feature several captured aircraft as well as a central structure build from the wreckage of French and American planes. Visitors may climb the flag tower, with great views from the top.

“Must Go”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 23, 2013

Very disturbing, gave me the creeps when I went through the Museum, but then I thought to myself, I was just viewing it, the locals lived through the atrocities and this is their history. Made me weep. I could not go through some of the rooms, I know it was cowardly, but the pictures and the tales were too disturbing, particularly, the ones about children and young women.

“A disappointing attraction”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 23, 2013

We found this museum to be poorly organized and very dated in it's style of presentation. It lacked continuity of information , jumping from one topic to another. It was poorly sign posted and did a disservice to what should be a very informative overview of Vietnam's military history.

“A must see”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 21, 2013

It's worth visiting this Museum to remind yourself of Vietnam's proud history of independence and its ability to defeat foreign invaders. A particular highlight is the tank that stormed the Presidential Palace in 1975 and the large collection of military hardware, much of it left by the Americans as they ran away.

“Worth it if you are very interested in military history in the region.... Or know Vietnamese.”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 19, 2013

This museum seemed to have some interesting stuff, however there was very little English on any of the displays, making it very hard to get an understanding of what was going on. Not knowing much about Vietnamese history or wars beyond the general, it made for a very confusing time.
Entry is only $1.50 ($1 extra if you want to take your camera in) so I guess it is worth a look.

“Worth a visit to appreciate Vietnam's history of foreign occupation”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 18, 2013

Throughout Vietnam I found a thread reflecting the privations suffered through 2000 years of foreign invasion and occupation. The people are proud that the country is no longer under foreign domination, militarily at least. The "American" war is only one in a long series of wars fought and won by the Vietnamese, but enough of "politics"
The museum is well worth a visit if only to see the open air collection of military equipment, especially the aircraft, both captured and supplied to Vietnam by its allies. The internal display may be slanted towards propaganda but it also reflects national pride and should be viewed in that light.
Verdict - well worth a visit.
