“Worth a visit”
Reviewed March 1, 2013

This museum displays the 54 different ethnic groups found in Vietnam. It was fascinating to discover the rich diversity of cultures in Vietnam. It was wonderful to see aspects of these 54 cultures proudly displayed. Well worth a visit.

“Very interesting”

Especially liked the replication of various housing used by different ethnic groups. There is also a very nice restaurant run by students on the site with very tasty food.

“A perfect way to spend Saturday in Hanoi”
Reviewed February 28, 2013

Loved getting a glimpse of the minority ethnic tribes, like my son's, and seeing how they live[d]. Really loved how the museum brought the exhibits down to the children's level, so they could bang the drums, use the kitchen utensils or play with the swings outside.

“worth the trip”
Reviewed February 28, 2013

one reviewer found this museum very boring probably perhaps he was expecting an EPCOT like atmosphere with all the fireworks and the rides. But as lovers of Vietnamese culture, this has to be one of the major stops in Hanoi. You can feel how the Vietnamese appreciate their culture, the hill tribes, the uniqueness of their people. I love how they recreate the different houses ranging from the classical Chinese-inspired courtyard to the high roofed thatched houses. This place is a veritable photographer's Disneyland with many angles perfect for that "Vietnamese" Shot. Lastly, their museum shop is filled with affordable art objects and handicrafts not found on the tourist strip.

Found this museum very interesting. The day by day of the many tribes shown gave a good insight into the lives of these people from past to present.
