“Best museum in Hanoi”
Reviewed June 13, 2012

This is the best museum in Hanoi, by a mile. It's well organised, has tons of exhibits, is easy to navigate, and is in a quiet, but easily accessible location. Plus the architecture of the place is very nice. From the centre of Hanoi it's about 20-30mins by taxi, or longer if it's a busy day, so leave yourself time to get there and back.

There's also a good café, and look out for the live performances year-round in the grounds. If you don't manage to get to Sapa, this is probably the closest you'll get to ethnic minority culture in Vietnam. Plus the information is much better laid-out than elsewhere.

You can also buy some lovely textiles in the shop, although they're much more expensive than in the market in Hanoi or Sapa.

“A very nice museum”
Reviewed June 11, 2012

I was really surprised when i went to this museum. They have a indoor and outdoor museum and both parts are really good.

You can go with kids without problem. There is things for them on the outdoor part. Climp the pillar houses and so on.

This is the museum I really try to take my visitors to see.

“Gives you an overview of the different tribes but nothing to shout about”
Reviewed June 10, 2012

Compared to the Sarawak Cultural Village, this does not measure up. It was ok but not great.
