Meracus 2 is that elusive treasure of a hotel that you search for in your travels but you never seem to find. I would go so far as to say it was perfect in every way and there was not one thing I could find to complain about, no matter how hard I tried.

From the moment we arrived, the service was at 110%. The staff are the hotel's greatest asset, they were super attentive and always greeted us with such warmth and hospitality. We even played games walking in and out the front door repetitively, just to see them smile over and over again! We spent a week in this hotel and we didn't want to leave. We really felt as though they treated us as their own family.

We travelled in a group, so we were able to view both types of rooms. My husband, young son and myself had one of the front rooms complete with our own balcony overlooking the street. My elderly parents had one of the back rooms with larger bathroom area and walk-in shower. There are no bad rooms here, just awesome ones. There are only 2 rooms per floor, resulting in spacious, long rooms with sitting areas and lots of space to spread out. We loved the complimentary use of laptops that are awaiting on your desk and the hipster city guides provided in-room, that were an informative and interesting read. Fresh flowers in vases, great tea selection and the comfiest beds in history. There are so many added features that will surprise you and put a smile on your face.

We also booked our overnight Ha-Long Bay cruise with Premium Galaxy through Meracus 2 and loved every minute of that too! Breakfasts at Meracus are divine. The dining room is tiny, but the cook to order menu was not. There are so many selections, we spent everyday torn between what we should try next. The breakfasts here were my favourite in the whole of Vietnam. Quality, not quantity and such care with the presentation you felt like you were eating in a 5 star gourmet restaurant every morning, which is a great way to start your day!

Again, everything about this hotel was perfect. Right down to their notes and small gifts left in our room to let us know how much we were appreciated as guests, the perfect location, the exemplary service and the things they do to go above and beyond. I couldn't imagine staying anywhere else when in Hanoi. Such a great achievement for a small hotel. If only more hotels could follow suit and do what you're doing, everyone could then see the true joy of travel!

Room tip: All the rooms are great. Front rooms have a balcony overlooking the street, with table and chairs. All windows are triple glazed so no noise can be heard. Back rooms are windowless but have a larger bathroom with a light well so that you don't feel claustrophobic.

Stayed for 2 nights before we left Hanoi, and this hotel really pays attention to guest's experience, we was offered an upgrade for one of the room and enjoyed very much with how the front desk staff greeted us and brief with us together with a handy map on how & what to do in Hanoi.

Location is excellent, walking distances to the lake, cathedral, and also 2 must visit cafes (Runam & Cong Cafe)

What separate other boutique hotels with this is the spacious room in old quarter "rare", and each rooms comes with a laptop, though wifi wasn't really as fast as I wish for.

Bathroom design were very nice and fresh flowers was always used for decoration.

Breakfast was delicious but it would be better if there are portion options, as a big eater it is kinda troublesome to re-order frequently.

Did not had much time socializing with the hotel staff but overall they are very very friendly.

I have not experienced such a personalised service before and can only congratulate the staff on a faultless high standard.
As many have mentioned before the breakfast choice is almost unlimited.
Hanoi is certainly a frenetic and lively city but very enjoyable nonetheless.
The trips to the Perfume a Pagoda and Halong Day were very good although both are long (12 hour) days and not suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
We visited during Tet which added to the atmosphere.
I would certainly recommend Meracus 2 for those wanting a small centrally located hotel.

Stellar hotel, not only is there nothing to fault but it excels in every aspect.

Great value for money, exceptional choice of breakfast, incredibly nice staff. Service like in a 5 star hotel buy more personal. The staff always remembered where we had wanted to go that day and asked how it had been and treated us like caring but non-invasive family.

Huge room with very nice decor. Excellent location, we walked everywhere.
The package we booked with them was great value and even the complimentary massage was excellent.

We will be back for sure!

I could not find any single reason of not choosing this hotel next time.

It is located near old quarter, a walking distance. As it is not in the centre of old quarter, the good thing is that is not so crowded and noisy.

The staff service was wonderful.... The breakfast was good with a lot of choices - Vietnamese, American, Chinese, etc. We stayed here for 4 days and we could try different breakfast style. No disappointment each time.

The room was spacious and comfortable.

We felt that it was a 5-star service / hotel at 3-star price.
