The room and amenities were on par with most JW Marriott properties. The location is far from the crowded central area, which can be a plus if you need a break from its frenetic pace, but also means the Grab/taxi fares are higher.
HOWEVER, the staff and service are so exemplary, you really need to stay at the Hanoi JW Marriott, if only to experience what true customer service looks like. The welcoming environment they create is unlike any other hotel. I attended a week-long meeting at the hotel with several hundred people. Everyone at the meeting I talked to had the same reaction about the excellent service. Also, the breakfast buffet has an amazing variety of healthy food options from Vietnamese Pho, to Indian, Japanese, and standard American dishes. Plus, lots of fresh squeezed juice options, Vietnamese coffee, fresh breads, salads, and fruits. It was hard not to eat too much!!
The hotel restaurants were great also! And the Cool Cats cafe had a surprisingly fantastic live jazz band! We were blown away with their skills. Would definitely return on the next trip to Hanoi!!More
