We went for 2 days/1 night while on our honeymoon. We stayed on the Violet in the Moon Suite. The room was gorgeous with a big bathroom, comfortable room space, and a smaller private outdoor space with two lounge chairs.

Sammy and Ann took care of us while we were on board. They took us to a cave and Fisherman's Village. They continued to check in on us and make sure we had everything we needed.

Each day there is an itinerary with some short trips around the area. The second day it was pouring rain so we decided to stay on the boat and relax. There is a room for massages and other services if you are interested! There was a cooking demonstration and Tai Chi class that were offered as some extras to attend.

The food was delicious! We had dietary restrictions and they were able to prepare incredible meals and substitutes when necessary.

The views are incredible and you can enjoy some fresh air on the top deck!

We took the family on the Violet cruise with together with another family. It was a wonderful experience. Rooms are spacious and luxurious. Food was top quality and plentiful. The boat was anchored each night amongst spectacular islands. Excursions were planned including kayaking, visiting caves, a floating fishing village, and a pearl harvesting village. Service on the boat was fantastic, lead by Sammy who made it clear he was available 24x7 to help us. He also allowed us to watch the World Cup football with the staff. Truly a memorable experience, and highly recommended.

If you are visiting Vietnam then Halong bay is probably a must and i believe Heritage cruise line is probably the best and the smaller Violet is the best junk...on the positive side Halong bay is stunning and could justify as being the eighth wonder of the world!...the staff and food on the violet is very good and because of the intimacy you get to know the other passengers especially at the early morning Tai chi on deck!... on the downside and because everything is so tightly controlled you are headed about to the few stop off places...maybe ok if you are sheep!...also as we were on a 3 day/2 x night cruise we thought we would go further but that is not really the case and all the boats stay pretty much together...anyway we enjoyed ourselves but will not be doing it again!

We had a wonderful 24 hour cruise on Jasmine around Halong Bay. The junk was lovely, super room with a little private balcony, the staff were great, excellent service and delicious and plentiful food. A memorable trip. We were so lucky with the weather too!

We visited for one night - the service and food from Brian and his team is excellent. You have to be prepared to go along with the strict itinerary- you are not free to explore yourself. Just go along with it and enjoy the experience. It's very peaceful at night having a drink under the stars in the middle of nowhere!

Also be prepared for a long car journey to Ha Long Bay and some tourist traps along the way!
