We live in nearby Nghi Tam and had been meaning to try this place out for a while and finally made it over this week.
I'd been looking at the menu online for a while - in particular I hadn't had ceviche anywhere in Hanoi and was looking forward to trying it. First mouthful was a bit of a let down as I'd hoped for something more citrus tangy than creamy. But I soon realised it was just different to what I'd had before.
Main course we both opted for ribs which is great value for the size of the portions. Two big eaters and we really struggled to finish this. The meat was beautifully prepared. That's one of the great things about restaurant, the options - a decent range of prices from burgers to steak. That said - even at happy hour with two glasses of wine, one beer, two of the cheaper main courses and only one started - it all added up to 1.1m VND which wasn't cheap.
We'll certainly be back and make use of the delivery too. Minor quibbles - Eminem on loud in the upstairs dining area when we got there - it's just not that kind of place. Nor the Taylor Swift that was on too. Better when we asked if it could be turned down. Also the more atmospheric downstairs is smoking which is a shame when smokers could take a single step outside.
The only other thing I'd change is that the Fijan Lamb Curry sounded incredible but I didn't want to order it for a starter in case it turned up as a spoonful of sauce in the middle of a plate (and I desperately wanted the ceviche) Please make it a main course. The starters were the most imaginative part of the menu and it was tempting to just order a selection to share instead of a single main course.
All issues were minor - all in all pretty great. We'll be back.
